All Kiahuna Plantation guests have free access to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club across the street. For access you will check in at Poipu Beach Athletic Club. You will find a large swimming pool, water slide, hot tub, full gym, full locker rooms, 2 half basketball courts, 3 pickleball courts and 4 tennis courts. We could walk across the street to the Poipu Beadh Athletic Club (swimming pool with water slide, sandy beach area for toddlers, tennis and pickle ball courts, ping pong, workout gym, even tetherball and shuffleboard), and Cabana Bar & Grill. Also walking distance to the Poipu shopping village with great stores and restaurants, and of course walking distance to Poipu Beach. The hosts quickly respond, answer questions and provide great tips and suggestions. And they even arranged a lei greeting at the airport when we arrived. Highly recommend! ##### James Y. It truly is a wonderful island, and the Poipu Beach/Kiahuna Beach area was well situated for most of the things we wanted to experience while there. The beaches themselves were swimmable, although Poipu was a bit calmer (people were surfing off of Kiahuna). The condo is on the first floor, which is important if you have much luggage. The lanai faces a large grassy field that is well maintained. The beach is at the end and a short, easy walk. We didn't use the pool facilities or the in-condo beach equipment, but others might find those right for them. Neighboring Ko'a Kea Resort, which can be accessed by walkway, has a good sushi restaurant, beachside bar, and Poipu Beach access. ##### Mark S. The condo is cooled by opening vents on the exterior of the structure. Pros: Excellent location. Beautiful property. Poipu Athletic Club is awesome. Cons: The room lists AC but the portable AC unit which is in the bedroom doesn’t go below 76 and doesn’t run for longer than 20 minutes until it turns off and requires a manual restart. This is not whole-condo AC and does little more than add circulation to the bedroom. The air coming out of the AC felt no different than the ambient temperature. The room comes with 4 washcloths regardless of stay length. We stayed for 6 nights and had 4 washcloths. Extra washcloths cost $15\. The Kiahuna Plantation exceeded my expectations, and I was happy to splash out and book an ocean view property. This unit is right on the ground floor, with an ocean view and a ridiculously short walk to the beach. There’s a wide open grassy area for games and several bbq areas within seconds of walking. The unit was also a delight with its more updated touches. There was a little snafu during my stay, but Erick, the owner, really stepped it up with finding a resolution, to which I’m grateful for. There Poipu Athletic Club is also just a short walk away. It’s actually a fantastic gym with more than decent weightlifting equipment, cardio equipment, a functional fitness/TRX area, yoga studio, volleyball court, tennis court, and more. It’s nice to have access to a more capable gym than what you’d normally find in a hotel. No need to take a lapse in your workout routine just because you’re on vacation. This is my first time in Kauai, and I came with a very large group who all booked units in the Kiahuna Plantation. The unit’s prime location became our gathering spot to have wine happy hours while the kids did cartwheels on the grass and played catch and we all enjoyed the sunset. The resort’s staff are exceptionally friendly, and I have nothing but love for Kauai. What a terrific place to spend the holidays. Mahalo!!! ##### Francis T.
