The large, stylish, and open living room offers magnificent, ever-changing views of the Pacific Ocean with spectacular sunsets. A rarity on Kaua’i, this home even features air conditioning in the entire upper level and in all bedrooms. Although this home provides the privacy you desire it is also just a few minutes from popular sites, shopping, and dinning! This Poipu property also sports one of the best running and walking paths on the island of Kauai within walking distance. Hale Ma’ana Hou in Poipu has 5 air-conditioned bedrooms, 4 baths and 2 half baths, including 2 master suites, and can accommodate 10 people with comfort. With 3 kings, a queen, 2 twin beds and equipped with wireless high speed access and grace, it is ideal for both family and executive rentals while on Kauai. AC is ONLY in bedrooms and upstairs living room. While you watch and listen to the waves rolling up on the sandy beach below you will delight in preparing and serving large or small groups in an over-sized kitchen and elegant dining room. A separate family room on the lower level, with convenient wet bar close to outdoor activities, leads to the backyard lawn, pool, and beach. A small open-air, poolside sitting room overlooking a splendidly tiled turtle mosaic 14 x 30 foot pool adds a spacious outdoor living area for intimate dining, pool parties, children’s activities, and more. However, the property needs some TLC. The air conditioners in three (3) rooms were broken and had been temporarily replaced by freestanding units with venting thru open doors and windows that didn't work well. The living room was too hot to spend time in during the afternoons because of the broken air conditioner. Seems like the AC issue has been going on for quite some time as there was an letter (with no date) on the counter addressing the issue. How do three (3) different AC units go out at the same time? Several broken waterline tiles in the pool. The refrigerator/freezer did not work properly...froze many items in the refrigerator and the ice maker did not work. Two of the sliding doors are very difficult to open. Two wall lights flickered constantly when turned on. The Garden island rental company was very helpful and we had a quick response time for any questions. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen had everything. Beds were comfortable, house was clean, and they had so much kitchen stuff to use. The best part though was the outside. We absolutely loved it. The beachfront location of this home is amazing! It’s literally a matter of steps to basically be on your own private beach and you have your own private pool. We had a couple issues with the washer and the air conditioner upstairs, but Brenda and Chela (from Garden Island Properties) were super responsive and had both fixed and/or replaced during our stay. The home is a bit on the older side so some things may need to be upgraded in the future. For example, some of the windows/hardware will probably need to be replaced as they were challenging to open and close. But overall, the house is really well maintained, has a spacious layout to accommodate large groups and its ocean view and location can’t be beat. We had so much fun at this home and would highly recommend staying at Hale Ma’ana Hou. ##### Reid M. This family holiday was supposed to happen back in 2019 but then unfortunately COVID happened. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. Our stay here at Hanaa mou....( check spelling) has brought so many lasting memories to our family. The location was perfect and views were amazing!! The sunsets were absolutely just breathtaking and stunning beyond words. My 7 year old daughter enjoyed seeing the turtles on the beach every night and boogie boarding on baby beach. These will be memories she will have forever and I am beyond grateful for that. LOTS of dolphin and whale sightings right from the balcony.... (except for the times it ended up being snorklers. Hahahahah) However, the 10 foot tiger shark that was feeding in 2 feet of water right in front of the house, was a bit nervy but also quite exciting as you don't see that everyday! The kitchen was phenomenal for cooking meals. Tons of utensils and kitchen gadgets that made things so much easier. My dad and brother in law much appreciated the brand new high quality bbq and made our fresh steaks and Ahi turn out just perfectly!! Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to all our friends. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay as a family to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. The one and only suggestion to be made is to have better quality soaps in the bathrooms. When staying in such a phenomenal high end home in such a beautiful place, it's nice to feel like you're staying at a 5 star hotel. We are from Canada and if we could offer a suggestion Rocky Mountain Soap Company has amazing beautiful soaps that are all natural and have made our experience at places memorable. We can't thank you enough for your generosity in sharing your beautiful home with our family and all 6 of us are so grateful for the memories we have created here! ##### Kathy M. The home is in need of maintenance, two downstairs showers take 1/2 day to drain, upstairs master slider door jam needs to be replaced. It was completely rebuilt after being destroyed in 1992 (hurricane). It has a small beach in front, where you can swim out to snorkel. Beautiful views and a short walk to the newer "mall" in Kauai. It is also very close to Baby Beach, which was great for our 2 year old grand daughter. Given all this - the property is in transition, between owners. But it is well stocked, with about everything you need on vacation, clean, and appliances - etc worked well. AC is in each of the bedrooms and that is about the only place in Kauai I need to have AC - in the rest of the house you can enjoy the Hawaiian breezes during the day. I hope the new owners keep it as a rental in the future - very nice spot. ##### Karen C.
