Regrettably, no parade was thrown in my honor upon checking in. In retrospect, no one made an attempt on my life wile there, so it may be a good place to hide from assassins. The house was clean and comfortable. host made it easy to extend a day when needed. highly recommended.

The beds were very comfortable, the neighborhood quiet, and the location within a brisk walk to the shopping area. It was obvious that the owner cares for the property and has put a personal touch on it.

Kodiak Paradise
Great and easy location. Plenty of room and very nice interior. We stayed here 3 nights so we could enjoy fishing and sightseeing in Kodiak. Nice kitchen so we could prepare some meals.

Nice place, poor instructions/management.
Big, clean place, but no instructions on how to access place, weren’t able to lock house while we were gone. No instructions about door code, internet access or anything else. Second day was able to finally reach owner, code given didn’t work, so we had to take all our valuables with us everywhere. Good thing there’s a great housekeeper!

This property is a great place. 3 bed, 2 bath duplex. Five adults, two couples and a single. We had plenty of space. The property looks recently updated, was clean and tidy. 6 or 8 minutes from the marina. 5 minutes to Walmart and Safeway. I would stay here again.

A very mixed review. This place is in a nice location with fair views. It has the potential to be an excellent place to stay. The price I felt was very fair for the island. However, the communication and check in process was a nightmare. The owner has no concerns about hospitality. The communication to check in was non existent and was very stressful. I did not receive any communication prior to our date of check in to receive check in instructions. A message was sent to owner on the morning of arrival but was not returned. We did not receive any check in instructions and the owner appeared even confused that we had a reservations after we were finally able to make a phone call connection. I was told she would call right back to which she did not and than waited 2 or so hours before we were able to reach her again. After multiple attempts to receive the door codes, we were blamed for not having the code. After voicing our frustration and trying to communicate, we were told to leave but were able to de-escalate the situation. Once going into the apartment, we discovered it had not been cleaned. Any further attempts to communicate with the owner was non existent until 330 in the morning. We ended up changing the linens ourselves and took trash out and placed prior linens in washer. The owner the next day did send a cleaner, however this was again after we had changed and washed our sheets.

That was a night mare for sure. I had just hired my new house keeper, obviously the bugs weren’t out of communication. As I said before I am very sorry about that. I could give you free days if you decide to come back.. this has never happened before.

Great Kodiak Getaway
Third time renting this property from Jennifer. She is an awesome person. Large 3 bedroom duplex that is kept super clean. Great kitchen for entertaining and nice outside deck. Would recommend this VRBO to any guests visiting Kodiak.

Kodiak Stay
We had a group of four that stayed for five days. Overall the property is nice, but it needs some maintenance work. 1. The garage door into the house sticks so bad, it's almost unusable. 2. Very few windows have screens, so it got quite warm inside since windows couldn't be opened. 3. The front door lock is a keypad type with a code to op[en and lock. After entering the code, it wouldn't lock/unlock consistently. Communication with the owner is non-existent. I sent several emails with no response. We call and left messages, no response. There are several VRBO's in Kodiak and while this one's nice, it wouldn't be my first choice.

Wonderful Location
Perfect for our needs. Close to Safeway (1/2 mile away). Truly enjoyed being on the this side of Kodiak. Very close to Fort Abercrombie State Park which was perfect for hiking, Puffin watching, and the ambiance of the NW forest. Jennifer's place was immaculate and plenty of room for everyone. Would definitely recommend!

Great place for family stay in Kodiak
The property was clean and spacious for our family. It was convenient to town, hiking, USCG station. The owner was great about providing info on the area, helping us with a HomeAway glitch, and taking care of anything we needed during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Location
We were a group of five, two couples and the mother of one of the wives. This duplex is close to grocery stores, restaurants and in a nice neighborhood. It was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked. We would definitely stay here again. We were in Kodiak to go wildlife watching and found the location convenient whether we were taking the roads north or south. That being said there are a few things that could be improved. 1. Most of the windows did not have screens and therefore we could only open a few windows to cool down. 2. There are only 4 chairs for the dining table even though the home sleeps more than four.

Clean and spacious. Nice view.
The place is roomy and well kept. Nice view. A bit farther from town than I expected (my fault for not checking). There was no hair dryer (even though stated in the listing) and no response from owner when I sent a note. I bought one and left it there for the next person.

Will not be staying with this host again. Check in a disaster. Broken furniture/heat. Rude host.
We are in Kodiak, on average, once every few months. We have stayed with this host on two other occasions at a different property (Luxurious Accommodations With Spectacular Ocean Views). On our last stay at that property we were awoken at 1:30 AM on a Monday morning to what seemed to be a domestic dispute in the homeowners level above us. After 30 minutes of what sounded like furniture crashing, screaming about explicit sexual acts, and a dog barking, we decided to never stay there again. It was only after requesting to book this "Clean, Quiet And Professionally Decorated" property that I realized that it was the same host as the property I just described above. We decided to give the location a try considering that host lives at different property. I use rental platforms A LOT, and a good host sends a message before the stay with check in details. This host did nothing of that sort. There were no details on the page about check in. We arrived at the address listed only to find a duplex with no indication of which side was which. (Here is where a message with check in details would have helped.) Which side are we staying in? What is the code to the door? I called to inquire the details of the check in and Jennifer, the host, was very rude. She asked me which side we rented. I had no idea which side we rented. There was not an address when we booked. The address we received on the app was a street address. After Jennifer rudely informed me that I needed to know which apartment I rented, I looked at the street address again and noticed a tiny little a next to the address. Is this the apartment number? Regardless of the fact that that street address had a little a or b next to it we still had no door code and we had no idea which side was which. This was very frustrating. Jennifer then informed us that there would be someone by at some time during our stay to fix the thermostat. I asked her to just let us know when that would be and she rudely replied "Well, if he cant get in then you will just bake in there." What a terrible check in experience. In summary: 1. Check in was a disaster. Host was rude. 2. Nearly 80 degrees in apartment with all of the windows open. Could not sleep in the heat downstairs. No one ever came to fix this. 3.Terribly squeaky bed in Master and could not sleep. Next night tried to sleep on futon in Master. Futon only had 3 legs and was propped up on the floor board trim. Had to sleep on futon in living room. Unacceptable.

Spacious Accomodations Just Outide of Town
Spent a few days here with my folks when they were visiting Alaska. The property is nicely situated with an ocean view and very convenient for Fort Abercrombie, Safeway and downtown Kodiak (about 5-10 minute drive). Arrival was a breeze and the place is HUGE, modern, and fully stocked (even has a grill on the deck). The owner was very very helpful and helped me print some documents I needed but left at home and was great at staying in touch if we had any questions. Highly reccomend.

Great place to stay, Need better communication
I would stay here again as the duplex was clean and quiet. Fully remodeled and was great. My only issue was the communication with the owner, I emailed 2 weeks prior to get what I need for access and all that and never received a reply until our final day here. I called when we arrived from McDonald's as phone service isn't great with my carrier in Kodiak. I left a VM asking when we could check in and if we needed a code? The owner called back and left a very rude message on my phone as my phone didn't ring. I just think some better communication with customers would be better..

Great stay!
This is a beautiful, comfortable home and we greatly enjoyed our stay. It's a duplex property, but we neither saw or heard neighbors. The home is not too far from town (on good roads) and is close to a beautiful public beach. It's got everything you need, except a blow dryer. Even coffee and filters! I'd recommend this property and would definitely stay there again.

Kodiak Crabfest Retreat
Just returned from a great trip to Kodiak for Crabfest. The accommodations were very clean and well kept. All 3 bedrooms were well appointed and additional bedding was available in the form of futons. The location of the property is approximately a 7 min drive from downtown Kodiak and is in a nice peaceful location near Mill Bay beach. My only word of advice is to contact the owner early for check-in instructions, as I did not receive any and the check-in process was quite stressful as a result. If you haven't been to Kodiak it is worth a look....

Wonderful Property - Would Stay Here Again!
Owner was wonderful to deal with. Property was clean and up-to-date. Beautifully decorated and nice view of the ocean. Great deck off the kitchen to enjoy the fresh Kodiak air. Rooms were wonderful with night stands that provided plug in capabilities. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended! Thank you!!!

Great value. Clean, comfortable, and a nice base of operations.
House appears to be recently remodeled and updated. Home was very clean and nice. This is half a duplex. Neighbors were basically not noticed. We stayed here with our family of seven and it had everything we needed. Nice place. Great value.
