Ladybugs are protected in the Smokies, so pest control services are not an option. The National Park Service released millions of Asian lady beetles into the park to fight a tree-killing insect, so the Park Service won't allow spraying specifically for ladybugs. We often see them in the fall when we have cooler weather. They are attracted by the sun as they are looking for warmth. I would highly recommend you consider purchasing travel insurance during the winter months. It is for your protection in the event of inclement weather and you are unable to travel. Please keep in mind the cabin is located within a mountainous area. However, we were greeted with a major sewer smell. Granted the host addressed the issue in a timely fashion and claimed to fix the issue but we couldn’t use one of the bathrooms due to the lingering smell. Not an ideal stay. The floors were dirty, very dusty and the hot tub was full of bugs. Overall the construction and maintenance could use some work, gaps in the doors and loose extension cords to the tv’s does not make this a “Luxe” property.
