The staff was very helpful. The onsen was really good, both indoor and outdoor. The reservation system of the onsen was convenient. The point I like the most was the offering of pick up to and from any restaurant nearby. Room was spacious and clean.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They will help make reservations and drive you to and from anywhere in town. There was always someone who spoke english which was great. There's several onsens that are included and you just need book a time. My wife and I had an amazing time in the Western suite with an in room onsen. The town has delicious food and we walked around everywhere and enjoyed the views.

I like the private reservation system. There are plenty of options and availability with eight private onsen to choose from. Staff was courteous and helpful, as one of the person in our party of 4 was on a wheelchair.

Amazing location and tattoo friendly. The restaurants book out early, however the one time we were booked in for breakfast, we were very disappointed and had better food in town. They have a courtesy bus that will run you into town and pick you up.

Arima Onsen town is quaint and small enough that you can walk to the property, or use their free shuttle service. The best part about staying here is the privacy. You can enjoy the hot springs privately without having to worry about other guests. There are 4 outdoor and 4 indoor springs. The outdoor ones are beautifully landscaped and have insect light traps so you don't have to worry bugs attacking you while you soak - thank you! You can also dine privately in one of their dining rooms - equipped with a TV which is a nice touch. The room itself was comfortable. Unfortunately, the outdoor furniture looked like it's never been cleaned so I wasn't able to use the outdoor space, and I found some dried squid pieces on the floor near the coffee table and sofa which were probably left behind by the previous guest. The attention to detail and smoothness/quality of service could use some work to make this place perfect, but overall I enjoyed my stay.

The hotel staff is super courteous. Shuttle service is very convenient. We enjoyed the quiet town and the hot spring. We loved the in-suite silver spa and appreciated the complimentary gold spa private session. The room is super spacious, like the size of 3 regular rooms. We will definitely come back!

This is my second time at Taketoritei Maruyama and it didn’t disappoint! Justin has been very helpful in arranging a Kaiseki dinner at a nearby hotel for our group since their restaurant were fully booked. Every staff on the property were courteous and friendly. Quick and easy shuttle service to the bus terminal and nearby restaurants. I highly recommend this ryokan when you visit Arima!

The staff are so friendly and helpful! The actual property was amazing and breath taking. They also have many multilingual staff members. The rooms with hot springs in them are well worth the money spent

The most unique feature of this property are the private baths. My husband and I were able to enjoy 3 out of 4 of the outdoor pool facilities. Pretty fantastic with both types of mineral water. We splurged for dinner and ordered the special Spiney Lobster. Sorry but not worth it. Dinner service was great but breakfast service was not. Brought our food and did not come in again. Minor points. Overall a wonderful experience!

A Ryokan stay in Japan is a must. This place has so many private Onsen you can go as many times as your body can handle ( the heat can get to you if you stay too long ). The staff is super helpful. They will help with booking at their restaurant and if there are no bookings available they will help book something in town for you to arrange a ride there and back. Super nice staff and very helpful.

Excellent service from the minute we arrived. Hotel shuttle picked us up promptly from the Arima bus station and transported us around Arima for dinner and sight seeing. Hotel staff were very friendly and made us feel right at home. Private onsens were great, would not hesitate to stay here again.
