Well worth the stay. We got a Japanese style room, so we were sleeping on a mattress on the ground which was an experience all on its own. The dinner in our room was good, I think I would’ve preferred dinner in the little town though. But it was very cool to wear the kimonos and go to the hot springs, this was very relaxing. Be aware that everyone goes into the hot springs without clothes on, but the water felt really nice and the women’s locker room comes with hair brushes, q-tips, hair dryers, and even face wash/toner/lotion. Don’t try to walk up to the hotel from the bus stop, it’s a steep climb, call the hotel and they’ll pick you up. I forgot my shoes in the room at check out, then accidentally took the room key after check-out. One of the staff found me on the train minutes before it left and I gave him the key back! Besides that, the onsen facilities were great. The room given to us was huge and have access to the garden. There was an actual tatami section to sleep and a separate room with western style beddings. The washroom was ginormous including a classy jacuzzi. We had the breakfast option but it was decent at best. If you are looking for a flavorfull experience, you might be disappointed but the experience itself was excellent. As for food, options are limited around the area and in my opinion, not worth the value and they close early. Expect convenient store food if you are on a budget. The actual property itself is very beautiful and clean throughout. It’s absolutely tranquil. However, sound proofing is poor. If there are noisy walkers and talkers above your room, you will hear them.
