"The initial staff was great when we checked in. The staff was non-existent whwn we checked out so I just left the room keys on the counter. As for the room, it was very clean and nice. The one complaint I have is the AC unit. Its an older push button unit that should be updated. I turned it all the way to cold to cool the room down. It then shuts off completely so I need to go push the fan only button. Then in the middle of the night, it warms up again so I hit the AC button until it cools down and shuts off completely again."

"This is one of the best places I've been to. The kitchen is very stocked with utensils and basic necessities. Loved watching the wildlife in the yard while we had dinner. Very northwoods we had no complaints. If the need arises I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to you again for a rental. Thank you so much"

"My family had a decent stay at Bear Cottage. We were definitely surprised by the lack of wifi, which the property manager confirmed would be removed from the listing to avoid future confusion. I definitely would not have booked this place at this price had I known there would be no wifi. We also saw a TV in the listing that was not there, just an old radio in its place that barely got reception. We have a 6 year old, so 7 days without any sort of outside contact or stimulation was a bit difficult. We managed by visiting my in laws at their camp site down the road (where oddly, we got great reception). We are big Star Lake fans and always appreciate a chance to get out to the Northwoods. We loved the history and charm behind the cottage, and made some great memories there. Thanks for sharing it with us!"
