- ![One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound.  This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze.  
Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

Overall very nice place to vacation, updated and very functional home. Only complaint doesn’t fall on the property more so the cleaners, home wasn’t 100% clean when we arrived Sandy floors, clearly hadn’t been vacuumed.several Dried up eye contacts on the bedroom floor assumably from the previous renters, other than that would return! Pool is awesome, plenty of outdoor activities, and the home worked very well for our family.

Lucy's Place will certainly be our place in the future. We have stayed in many homes in Corolla, Pine Island and now Southern Shores and Lucy's place is one of the best yet. Fit our family of 17 perfectly (12 adults, 5 babies). The pool is very large as is the separate backyard area. The bedrooms are all a good size. The kitchen, great room and table for 14 were ideal. The proximity to the beach is great and the walk is easy. We really enjoyed our stay and the management was very easy to work with. We did have a few small maintenance items, due to the age of the home, but all were addressed quickly and did not disrupt our enjoyment of the home at all. This is a well planned, beautiful home. Highly recommend this rental and we all toasted Lucy upon arrival!

#### Fabulous Property!

Our extended family just returned from our stay at this property. We had ages 12-72 from North Carolina, Minnesota and Serbia. This is a beautiful home with spacious bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms and a great kitchen/family room area. There was plenty of room for our group to hang out together both inside and outside. The pool is fabulous, we thought it was well worth the money to heat it. We used the pool and hot tub several times a day. We really appreciated all of the outdoor seating - loungers, Adirondacks and tables with umbrellas provided several options. The beach is roughly a 10 minute walk away. Boogie boards and a couple of beach chairs are available at the property. There were also bikes there, which our tween and teens used often. The elevator was nice for unloading and loading, as well as for the older people in our group. We only had one issue during our stay - the hot tub stopped heating and the digital control board froze up. I texted the management company and someone was there and had it fixed within a couple of hours. Property is close to both Duck and Kitty Hawk. It's about 30 minutes to Corolla, and I definitely recommend going on a wild horse tour. Do not hesitate to book this property, we hope to visit again!
