There are five decks for your viewing pleasure, two ocean side decks, and two sound side decks plus your private hot tub deck with access from the two main bedrooms. The top-level decks offer partial ocean views and sound views from the west top decks, which also provide awe-inspiring viewing of incoming and departing thunderstorms as well as stargazing. Plus, less than a 5-minute walk to the ocean or sound. You may enjoy hours of sun by the private pool, situated for the afternoon and evening sun. A private hot tub deck is a romantic location for relaxing while viewing the constellations and shooting stars. Your property is based on a reverse floor plan; dining and living rooms are located on the top-level along with decks with views. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Everything was clean and there were more than enough supplies for our family. A grill that seemed new or almost new was there and we enjoyed using it. Propane was a plus over buying charcoal. Perfect location a bit away from the fray of Duck but close enough for dining and supplies. Easy walk to the beach and to the sound to dine at Village Table and Tavern (very good!) and outings with NorBanks. This home's layout was perfect for our family of 8 which included two millennials who had the first floor all to themselves, my parents (70s and 80s) who shared the master which had a perfect en-suite bathroom with walk in shower, my husband and I who loved the spacious queen with easy access to the deck, hot tub and pool and two 12-year-olds who loved the loft bed. The third floor was perfect for dining inside or on the deck, game nights and just generally hanging out. Beautiful views. The pool was perfect for post-beach relaxation. The house is close to the beach and is perfect for families. It was very clean. The pool and game room were great. The property management company was not able to get the hot tub working while we were there, which was a little disappointing. They were very responsive by text though.
