This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The kitchen was impressively well equipped — it had everything we could possibly need, and all the appliances were high quality (including the gas bbq). The screened-in porch was a great spot to relax, and the location was ideal: a quiet road for peace and privacy, but just a short walk to the shops in Duck and an even shorter walk to a quiet beach access. The house was very clean and had all the appliances we needed. It also had some beach chairs, umbrella, and even a few boogie boards you can use. We brought our own beach stuff, but its there if needed. There is also a beach wagon in the laundry room to help you cary your stuff to the beach. We really enjoyed having coffee on the screened in porch in the mornings. The house is located by many restaurants that are a short drive away. We recommend Aqua, Sunset Bar and Grill and Duck Donuts. My family and I all agreed we would definitely stay here again. ##### Jason R.
