Case Irene is a lovely hotel with the most hospitable staff. It is based 5 minutes from Falsarana beach and 15 minutes from Kissamo beach. The front reception was super helpful with check in and local recommendations. Housekeeping were very efficient and the breakfast service was very nice. We loved our stay!

Great small boutique hotel close to the amazing Falasarna beach, typical Greek elememts with a modern twist. The team hosting was absolutely amazing, the most kind and friendly folks you could hope for. Rooms are pristine, clean and everything you need incl fridge, microwave and kettle Highly recommend and we plan to come back again

Comfortable and private

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel. Friendly staff, comfortable room and common areas, very clean and well looked after, pool a bit cold (end of May). Breakfast and dinner tasty however food could’ve been warmer. Just a short drive from a beautiful Falassarna beach. Nice and quiet, private and not crowded as only 15 rooms at this property. Situated in the heart of a small village, surrounded by taverns but not much to do in the area itself. Good if you have a transport to explore local area

We felt very comfortable here!! The room was very spacious and stylishly furnished. There is also a fridge and a small kitchenette in the room and a nice seating area in front of the room as well as a washing line for wet swimwear. The pool area and bar are very cool :) You can sit comfortably anywhere on the rooftop and enjoy the view. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. On our arrival day we were given lots of tips and on our departure day they even prepared a packed breakfast because we had to leave early. Overall, it was a great experience at this hotel and it is also the perfect starting point for exploring western Crete by rental car!

Lovely little hotel in Platanos

After reading some negative comments about the hotel we we're a bit insecure whether to book. But in the end, it was the perfect choice and we had a wonderful time at Casa d'Irene. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Check-in was very smooth and fast. We booked a classic room and asked for a room with daylight. The room was quite spacious (more than enough space for two people with two large suitcases) and it was almost new. We really liked the nice, modern design of the room. We even got some cookies and Raki as a welcome gift. The only small inconvenient was that the room was opposite to the reception. But it turned out that this was not really a problem. We were never bothered by other people talking in the reception. Concerning the parking situation, there is the possibility to park in the streets next to the hotel or at a parking lot in 1 minute walking distance. We did not encounter any problems to enter the parking lot. Platanos is a picturesque small village. There are many very good restaurants close to the hotel. The wonderful Falassarna beach is only a 10 minutes drive away. And Casa d'Irene is also ideally located to explore other beautiful spots on the island of Crete (like for example Elafonisi beach, Balos beach, Paleochora, Samaria gorge, Chania, etc.). This was our first stay on the island of Crete, but we will come back for sure!

What an amazing stay… a beautiful and intimate hotel. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was delicious. Most importantly the staff was incredible and so kind. We loved Niki at the front desk, she was amazing!! We hope to be back again soon :)

Overall great small hotel nestled In a tiny cute village. The property felt brand new and was well maintained. The rooms were spacious and modern. There was a great restaurant right next door too and the hotel restaurant served a nice breakfast.

Eclectic boutique hotel at back of village. Parking virtually impossible unless you incur wrath of local villagers. Hotel car park difficult to locate and a long walk from hotel. After being incorrectly escorted into a windowless basic room, we were correctly moved to the superior room we had booked, which was perfectly spacious, quiet and modern. Restaurant for breakfast is on the terrace, great service and delicious options included in hotel price. If travelling with kids, there is an ideal mini pool for them to dip into next to the bar. Location is terrific for visiting fabulous west coast beaches and local taverna were terrific. Better bet than opting for nearby Kissamos.

Deluxe?

We chose Casa d’Irene out of several options due to its beautiful branding and design, presenting a clean high level experience. Which is not exactly what we had, nor what we expected from the definition of Deluxe. The hotel is new, clean. The receptionist was exceptionally kind. Though the infrastructure is nothing close to deluxe. Located next to an industrial site, with a constant noice, the space has a very poor spatial design, with rooms having no direct sunlight nor view. Interiors are well designed, though logistic issues exist: the room had no toilet paper, the shower leaked. Not a deluxe feeling. Cleaners woke us up in the morning while loudly working around the room. Breakfast was good, offered in a beautiful terrace - yet not suitable for this weather! No internal space was available despite the windy, rainy day. Great food, though local elements should be prioritized and valued. Both in the breakfast buffet, and in the toilet supply, single use plastics and small containers should be forbidden - it’s 2023. Your identity, messaging on reducing the usage of towels, UNESCO commitments totally clash with plastic. Recommended? Yes, if the term Deluxe is dropped.

Sehr nettes Personal und jeden Tag leckeres Frühstück. Toller Poolbereich mit Sonnenterrasse, leider mit einer nervigen Taubenplage aus der Nachbarschaft. Im Zimmer hat ab und an der Abfluss gerochen. Klasse ist die Möglichkeit selbst im Zimmer zu kochen.
