"Nice hotel if you have a car"
I didn't realize there is 30 mins walk from the ferry to hotel uphill and having a suit case and two kids definitely didn't help. Not the hotel's fault but just want to remind everyone unless you have a car or don't have luggages, you are better off staying in Windermere.

The hotel staff were lovely and it is an interesting hotel with a long history. Some of the decor in areas of the room I stayed and some parts of the hotel needed to be done. The shower was difficult to operate and the water was scolding hot, very difficult to control.

"Great stay"
Very good at the hotel but will never use Expedia again ever it took 15 mins to be booked in over the phone and the person was rather unhappy that I would not pay when I booked the rooms. I did email Expedia about this but never received a reply

"Pleasant, Clean and Comfortable."
I only stayed one night so didn't see too much of the hotel. I was made welcome and given all the help/advice I needed. The hotel and the room were very clean and comfortable. Probably one of the best nights sleep I've had in a long time. Very nice breakfast, cooked to order but I didn't have to wait an age to get it. The only downside was the difficulty parking but that was more because of other peoples inability to park properly. Overall, a good place to stay in Grange.

"Enjoyable experience"
The host and staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The Friday evening there was a thriving atmosphere with pub quiz, bingo and roll over style cash lottery. All very inclusive. Dinner was superb and very filling as was the spectacular breakfast. Thank you for the experience

Although I expected a rear room as the ad stated 'a garden view' (back garden very pretty) we were at the front of the hotel facing the front garden over the car parking area but we were happy because we could see the river, boats and hills (room 16-3rd floor) Room was lovely, very clean.Beds comfortable. Breakfast was substantial and seated in the garden room. We didn't have an evening meal at the hotel but drove to nearby restaurants both nights. Be prepared to lose yourself, lots of passages/corridors to pool area which was a nice touch. Jacuzzi was lovely till side of my foot touched a very high pressured suction 'hole' under the water! very painful resulting in a bruise. My husband let reception know just for safety reasons. Next day, sat in the jacuzzi, a young man told us the same had happened to him. He was in the Jacuzzi with wife and 12 month old baby. Later at reception my husband mentioned that another guest had had the same problem. The receptionist was really nice and shouted the 'maintenance'man over who was rude, said there was no problem with the Jacuzzi and had had no complaints. My husband felt he was getting called a liar! When we were checking out I showed the girl the bruise on my foot, she seemed embarrassed that my husband was spoken to in that way. I explained that we were simply making them aware that there was a problem, we didn't want compensation! we didn't want a reduction! The couple said they would mention their incident too.

"Nice hotel, near all shop's and not far from Lake."
Great hotel, would have been a nice view from room had it not been foggy! Room a bit tired and dated which I thought made our stay a bit over priced for the room we got. Hotel staff very friendly. The breakfast was excellent great choice of food and left feeling satisfied.would visit again if had cheaper offers on!

"Pleasand stay and good location."
The Wheatsheaf is a typical village pub offering en-suite rooms. Car parking adequate, room clean and comfortable. Full English breakfasts cooked to order and excellent. Bar and restaurant areas generally clean. Wi-fi did not work in bedroom. Located on a one-way street so a little frustrating to have to drive round the block whenever approaching from the Hawes direction.

"Very conveniently located, friendly lodging. "
Right by the local bus stop out of town so really good location. Breakfast was large and tasty. Room was seemingly newly refurbished and very clean. Only problem was that the pub is a bit noisy late evening and generally noisy as you can hear other guests closing doors etc. but it's an old building so I guess the same problem everywhere. Very friendly and helpful staff. We didn't eat there for dinner but perhaps we should have as breakfast was great.
