This home has an open floor plan that includes beautiful panoramic views of the water from every room of the house, ceiling fans in all rooms, and casement windows to let in the breeze. Three bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms with a dual system central air and heat. The spacious kitchen with bar and central island opens into the breakfast area with a waterside living room and game area equipped with ping pong table for game nights. Master bedroom has a nursery nook overlooking the water. The backyard has a large firepit and a two level pier, 2 ft MLW perfect for your kayaks and small fishing (jon) boats. The home is located within two minutes of the Sandy Point Marina that provides boat launching facilities and gasoline. Make a day trip to Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens and Historical Williamsburg only 1+ hour away or rent a charter boat and enjoy fishing the Chesapeake Bay. Check out the birth place of George Washington and many historical museums and battlefield near Fredericksburg. Eat waterside at local restaurants, play a round of golf at nearby golf courses or try local winery tours. Antique shopping is a fun way to spend a morning or afternoon. The house was spacious and clean. It was well-stocked with games, movies, and books. The back deck was a peaceful place to be in the mornings, in the sunshine, with a view of the river. The beach is a 5 minute walk from the house. The kitchen had an assortment of items - we would have appreciated some tupperware, or tin foil/cling wrap, as we had no way of storing leftovers appropriately between meals. The house is well equipped and great for families and dogs! Loved the ping pong, lots of games, comfy bed. Make sure you bring what you need as there is no much in terms of shopping. Bbq grill was working but dirty.we just put foil down and that worked fine. Water is tidal so expect times with the water low. There is a beach area but we did not use it. You would not want to swim off the dock. There is a fire pit which is great but bring your own wood. Would recommend this if ur looking for a rustic river stay! Management very responsive. Had to message her to lower temperature. Not used to that in a rental and did not like that. Most of the bedroom light and fan switches did not work and wall controls are missing batteries. The windows that surround the house to see the water from two views is beautiful. The only down side is that there is only one full bathroom, but we knew that when we booked. There was an issue with the door lock, but once we got a hold of the property manager who connected us with the owner and it was taken care of quickly and easily. Séjour de 7 nuits en août 2023 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Jessica L. 5 sept. 2023 Points forts : Propreté #### Peaceful, beautiful and just wonderful I gave our kids the choice of beach, river or mountain for our Labor Day trip and they chose river and I am so glad they did. The home was absolutely perfect for our group! We had so much fun. We crabbed, we fished, we played games, ping pong, foosball and we watched a meteor shower on the dock. It was one of those vacations where we all got to reconnect and just focus on being together. It was comfortable and the host provided extra bedding and cots, which allowed the kids to spread out. My only complaint really is the knifes provided do not have a sharp edge, so if you're planning to prep meals, bring your own knife from home.
