The bed in our room hadn't been changed or made up from the previous occupant. We were given a different room, with a bed with clean sheets. The sheets were the only thing clean in the room. Everything was filthy. I don't mean a little bit dirty, someone had coughed up green phlegm and spat it on the wall which had dried into a 6 inch lime green streak on the wall about 18 inches above the floor near the of the bed. Not easily missable, but had been there for quite a while. There was a smell of cigarette smoke in the corridor which also had black mould up the walls at the end of the corridor. The smoke smell continued into the room even though the windows had been left open. My wife wanted to go home but I suggested going out for a meal and a few drinks in the evening, it was only one night and we would spend minimal time in the room. We went to the local Harvester, where the food was below average as was the cleanliness, toilets mainly. Nothing like the Kingfisher though. We decided to go back to the room and get changed and go around the local pubs. When we opened the door to the room it was stinking of stale cigarette smoke. We had shut the windows when we went out and the smell had built up. Thank goodness we hadn't opened our cases as everything inside would have been stinking. We just picked up our cases and left. We didn't even stop to ask for a refund we just wanted to get out.

The hotel was cheap so we were not expecting 5* but it should have been fit for purpose. The room was dirty, the shower did not work and the bath was a disgrace. We were booked in for two night but left after one we would have left earlier but was too late to travel home by thetime we got there. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

THE WORST HOTEL EVER!
This is by a long way the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Actually we didn't stay, we went out for a bad meal at the local Harvester and drove home. We left because the stench stale cigarette smoke in the room was horrendous after the windows had been closed for a couple of hours while we were out. It was bad enough during the day with the windows open. On arrival we were given a room that it was clear the bed hadn't been made from the last occupant. No problem changing the room. Everything in the hotel is dirty, needs painting and worn out or broken. An example of how disgustingly dirty it is, somebody had spat a big green snot about 6" long down the wall which had dried in. This had been there some time to have dried in. If there is a cleaner they probably thin it's part of the decor.It fits in. The corridor had a different smell, damp, there was black mould on the walls. The whole place needs flattening. We left not even stopping to ask for a refund, that's how quickly we wanted to get out of there.

We stayed here for one night hitel was room was dirty and had false nails over the foor from the lasr person toilwt and bath had dirt rim all around them only one pillow each on the bed and one person had pillows off a chair as ther was only 3 pillows and 4 of us staying there you can hear eveeything from the room next door and above not a very good night sleep and nobody on reception in the morning to complain to just had to leave the keys on the desk would never stay here again

The whole hotel smelled of cigarette smoke and damp! The room was filthy with mould and damp, The room once locked would not open from the inside! We booked for two nights but opted to drive home rather than stay the second night!

dont even think about using this hotel
will never use again. the room was dirty, it smelled, the "restaurant" was closed, the furniture in the room was broken, the shower and TV didnt work - I have a suspicion someone was murdered in the room or at least a violent crime took place. terrible hotel that I will never use again

Where do I start, having read the reviews after I had booked I thought surely things ain't that bad. Believe me they are, both ppl on reception was on their phones. Should've had the honeymoon suite (1adult2kids) ended up in a twin. Room was filthy, carpet was disgusting, shower didn't work and walls were thin. Final straw was someone previously had spilt beer on the bed and they just covered it with fresh sheets. Was supposed to have stayed two nights but no way I would stay another night. The only reason why I stayed that night was cos the kids were really tired.

I couldnt stay here found different accomodation.
This hotel is disgusting. I would not recommended to anyone. Its a complete and utter eyesore. carpet were stinking, curtains had mould on them, all you could smell in the place was urine, pubic hairs on the toilet and bath, bed sheets had not been changed and had stains on them. It was that bad there was flies swarming the place. Currently in a fight to get a refund with expedia . Do not book

The place on street has no lights at night so kept passing at 2 am. Night clerk did not tell us how to turn on tv, never came back to room about questions, bed was like wood.

Overall good for the low price.
Pretty good for the price @ £13.50 each. Clean linen and generally fairly clean. Hotel could easily be much better if more attention's given to the details though.

We use this hotel on a bank holiday sundays as we use the kingfisher club. very cheap prices for one night. wouldn't stay there for more than one night thou. needs decorating. room we had the last time had got a lot of mould on the walls.

I'd booked online a month before & called on the evening we were driving up there. I was informed there was no bookin, no room available that I'd booked but was a family room I could have at a lower price. I accepted as we were half way there & it was after 2200 on arrival. Corridors very smoky, all of the furniture was either scruffy or broken, drawers missing, toilet basin broken. The list feels endless. The curtains didn't close, not ideal after a 3hr drive and arriving late. My son complained his bed smelt of "old ladies". The radiator wasn't on but an electric heater was. I turned off during the night due to safety and the quilts were very thin. Making the remainder of my night unpleasantly cold. The only good thing was the shower was hot, filthy shower room though. Dire!!!!

Parts of the hotel have been recently renovated - but things such as the paintwork seem to have been forgotten. The hotel claims 3 stars from the AA - surely a mistake! We arrived the day after part of the heating system had broken down. While these things happen, it was disappointing that we had to ask for a heater to be brouht to our room.

In my opinion this hotel is very badly maintained I wouldn't recommend this hotel . The bathroom ceiling looked as if it was going to cave I would rate it at 2 out of 100 very very poor , but it is cheap and you get what you pay for but even still I couldn't get a picture on 5 he tv or a signal on the wifi I even checked out early because it was that , so just beware ...

Why would you choose to stay here? its that bad.
We were put in a room right next to reception so could hear the constant complaints from other guests, due to thin walls. The main issue I had was that originally the hotel promoted itself as having free spa facilities, but when we arrived, we were told this would cost money, as the hotel was now separate to the spa for 3 weeks, but the online promotional material had not been updated. The room was barely clean and presentable, there was nothing else to do in the local area, and the tv had only 5 fuzzy channels. Also, I overheard, during another person's complaint, that if you wanted to speak to the owner/manager he was living abroad, so the buck stopped with the highly irritable receptionist, who was more engaged with watching videos on his phone. Don't waste your time and energy on this hotel.

Try and avoid the hotel unless you are desperate for a room as even though it is cheap it shows rooms are very poor standard dirty carpets wallpaper peeling off the walls all the the bedding and towels are clean and fresh the hotel is off poor standard and is in need of a complete refurbishment and the tv doesn't work I did complain about it and I was told it was fine even though it was not and the problem is that as digital TV is every where now they won't pay for a digital ariel so you have to put up with normal tv with next to no reception which means the tv is un watchable so I would avoid the hotel unless you are desperate for a room for the night as if you just want a room to sleep in then it is ok but if you plan on spending any time in the room then I would strongly recommend to avoid this hotel

Horrendous!
The car park was pitch black. No lights on in the car park or the pub. I go and check in. The man at reception was miserable. I said hello, he doesn't answer as he takes his ear phones out. I fill in some paperwork and he gives me the keys and tells me to walk down the stairs to the room. No 'have a nice stay' or 'thank you'. The hallways looked a mess and I just got a very bad vibe from the whole place. I open the room and the Bed had thread bare sheets- not even a mattress protector or a decent duvet. It was horrible. Very dirty! I didn't want to stay here with a 7 week old baby. I handed the key back to reception. The man asked if we were staying there. I said no. He didn't even asked why. We left. Avoid like the plague. We paid £36 for the room and didn't get a refund. I wouldn't stay there if I got paid to. I thought I had booked the kingswinford hotel.

The hotel staff were unbelievably rude on arrival. Handed me paperwork to sign which said I'd brought a standard room when I had paid for the honeymoon suite. I told the receptionist and his response was 'oh yeah' nothing else... Then handed me the keys. Went to the room which was okay for the price paid but shouldn't be called a 'honeymoon suite' the TV didn't work; no mobile signal and plug hanging half off the wall. Wouldn't return!

Vile hotel. Dirty walls, the room smelt of damp and was freezing. The shower didn't work properly and nor did the TV. The sheets were fairly clean, we asked for extra pillows and the answer we got was no. Avoid this hotel. We checked out as soon as the sun came up.

Awful.
Kingfisher was cheap and was not worth anything more. It was shabby and the room had stained floors and desperate need of decorating. Bathroom was a mess with the hot tap of the bath constantly running, though the shower itself would not get anything hotter than ice! I would not reccomend this to my worst enemy.

The hotel was discusting, the head board was falling off the bedroom only came with 2 pillows for a double room, the bath had a hole in the side behind the toilet was dirty and to top it all off next door woke me up at 5am having s*x and again at 730 when they were using the bathroom as i could hear them having a wee!! Will not be staying there again, and also on top of that the guy at hotel tried to charge me after already paying to yourselves

When we reached, the receptionist gave us room 30. When we reached there, it was not cleaned in any form and someone left that room a while ago. Problem was reported and guy said "oh sorry I gave wrong key with a mistake". We were given another key for room 28 (might be the best available for the hotel). The room was in a real dirty condition with smell, really dirty carpets and walls, smelly towels and no duets. We checked hot water and shower and it was really bad so we booked another hotel and left that hotel immediately as it was not suitable for living. I never had such a bad experience in my whole life. So please never book this hotel until they will refurbish it and change to a well mannered staff.

The hotel was very basic, TV had very poor reception and was not on a stand just lent against the wall. Bath looked like it had seen better days and the bed only had 1 pillow each. Despite being there a week we were not offered any fresh towels or toilet roll etc.
