O'Connor Island is a 1.5 acre island in the St. Lawrence River. The cottage is on the highest part of the island, 40 feet above the water, with extensive decks and unparalleled views of the river. Enjoy coffee out front in the morning and cocktails in the afternoon.

The cottage has a master bedroom with a queen bed and private half bath, and a second bedroom with bunk beds. The second bathroom has a tub and shower. All linens are provided. There is a large flat screen TV with satellite in the living room, as well as a Blu ray DVD player. There is also a small TV with a DVD player in the bedroom with the bunk beds. The WiFi works throughout the cottage and on the decks outside.

The kitchen has a microwave, coffee maker, and a four burner stove with an oven. Bring bottled water to drink. The dining room table seats 6. The sofa bed sleeps 2.

The cove is ideal for swimming. The boathouse can accommodate 2 smaller boats and there is extensive dock space which can accommodate boats up to 36 feet. There is shore power in the boathouse and on the dock outside for larger boats.

In the afternoon, enjoy the breeze coming off Lake Ontario. It the wind is too strong, retreat to the decks on the east side of the cottage where someone may be using the gas grill.

Tired of cooking? The Ivy Lea Club has a five star restaurant. It is just a few minutes away by boat. Menus are in the cottage.

We had a wonderful time on the island. The setting is absolutely ideal if you like privacy, seclusion, amazing views, watching sunrises and sunsets relaxing with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine depending on the time of day! What makes the place unique is how accommodating the owner is to his guests. Any other island we looked up suggested that we use a water taxi to get there. John took us to the island himself, and generously provided another boat ride back and forth during our stay to accommodate our plans, despite the fact that we came back late at night.

5/5 Excellent

Very relaxing
Our experience was excellent. Beautiful views. Cottage was comfy. Watching the sunset in the evening and sunrise in the morning was very nice. One of the features I enjoyed on the property were the many places to relax either on the deck facing the cove or at the fire pit watching the sun go down. It was a great experience and we look forward to returning again.

4/5 Good

lovely secluded island
The location and the island are beautiful. The downside is the lack of maintenance of the cottage. The cottage is well equipped, rustic and basic. However, the island is very enjoyable if you like outdoor activities!

5/5 Excellent

Beautiful location, loved our stay.
We had a wonderful week at this cottage. So peaceful and surrounded by gorgeous views. Our dogs loved having the run of the island and we love bed sitting on the deck just taking in the incredible surroundings. It was a tad cold while we stayed so aside from the dogs, no swimming but there was a lovely bay to swim in should you wish. The cottage is rustic but well equipped. Everything we needed was here. (Note to self, we packed far too much in case the cottage did not have it but we were pleasantly surprised) would definitely come back to enjoy this little private paradise.

4/5 Good

Great island.
Island and location were fantastic. Cottage was cozy with everything you need but is in serious need of a good dose of spider spray. We did have hot water the last 3 days and the property manager said he was coming each day when we called but never showed up. Fortunately the water was warm to rinse off in. Great value for the price.

4/5 Good

Secluded rustic cabin
Amazing stay. Had a wonderful week there. There were 5 of us. The cabin is situated on a hill with serval stairs up. Around the cottage are a few steep hills. Rustic two bedrooms with decent sized living room and dining room. Will seat 6. Kitchen could use a few extra things. AlWe went through several jugs of drinking water.
