Every sunset is different and can be seen from different vantage points from either of the private lanais off the living room or master bedroom. This condo is the largest floor plan available; don't be fooled, but look at this closely - most 2BR/2Bath units at Kauhale Makai are 799 sq. ft. Only a few units like ours with both bedrooms directly looking out upon the ocean are 975 sq. ft. What you end up paying for a unit doesn't correlate with what you will get, so look closely at what size you are getting. We have done an extensive remodeling project involving the entire unit. You will enjoy the beauty, inside and out. It is so peaceful and private here. This condo sleeps 6 with comfortable options for either two couples or a family. One bedroom has a King bed and the other bedroom has a queen-size bed. Both rooms serve as master bedrooms with views of the Pacific Ocean, West Maui Mountains, neighboring islands and Ma’alaea Harbor. Each has its own separate adjoining bathroom. For the family option, the King bed is prepared in advance as two twin beds. The queen pull-out sofa bed in the living room is new and very comfortable with advanced mattress technology (mattress is 8 1/2" thick, as thick as a standard bed mattress). Experienced Hawaiian vacationers will appreciate the quiet, central air conditioning; a rare commodity in condo complexes in Kihei. This really makes for a more comfortable stay. Boogie boards, air mattresses, beach toys, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach towels and coolers are provided. There is a wide range of restaurants and a farmer’s market within a mile of the condo. Nearby you will find shopping centers ranging from outlet malls to world class boutiques - and golfing in Wailea. Beaches known around the world are only minutes away. Last, but not least, to rent this condo is a unique experience in service and communication. Margie, the owner, does not work through a managing agency through the reservation process but receives all communication herself before and during your stay. She has a fast response rate and as you can tell from the multiple rave reviews, having this connection with her makes a big difference towards having a wonderful vacation experience. She does not charge an administrative add-on fee for her hands-on care of her guests like you will see on many listings. Very comfortable and nicely appointed. The views from every room are wonderful and the unit it quiet being situated away from the pool. And if you are a cook like I am, wanting a condo in order to eat in frequently, you will be very pleased. I stay in Vrbo places frequently and have never stayed in one where the kitchen was so well supplied with everything you could need to make a complete dinner. I never looked for anything that I could not find. I also particularly liked that it was just a bit north of the main Kihei action but close enough for easy access. We arrived after dark and will always remember the thrill of opening the curtains the next morning to this amazing view. Photos don’t do it justice. Peaceful, beautiful, birds singing and a big green belt with palm trees then ocean views—what could be better. The interesting thing about this condo is it is only about a mile from lots of restaurants, etc. and yet you feel secluded in your own piece of paradise. Inside, the beds are so comfortable, and the bedrooms have black-out curtains. The condo is organized and equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Lots of dresser space was appreciated. Views from all windows. Relaxing TV area. You really don’t need to leave. Sunsets from the lanai can’t be missed. What amazing, beautiful colors. Margie is a friendly, accommodating, informative and responsive host. I appreciated that she reached out before our visit to inquire whether we wanted one king bed or two twin beds in the master suite. The views from the second floor balcony are breathtaking. We absolutely loved that from nearly everywhere in the unit you could view the ocean. This oceanfront condo was a perfect place for my husband and myself, along with my sister and her husband! All of the bedrooms and the main living space had an amazing view of the ocean. The main bedroom was incredibly spacious with a bathroom. The secondary bedroom was much smaller but nicely decorated. It also had an amazing view and an attached bathroom. The kitchen was nice and perfectly stocked with plates, utensils, and cooking items, so we could cook meals. The living space was great. It is a bit smaller than what the pictures look like, but still very nice. The balcony off the main area and the master bedroom was very nice and we used both often. The condo complex has a pool, a kiddie pool, and a hot tub. The main pool is nice, but beware it is NOT heated, so it is a brisk swim. The hot tub is great. This complex has nice grills, so we were able to grill alot. It is also within a short drive of restaurants and bars, but we walked to restaurants and bars, too. The location is great and the condo view is fantastic. The host was very friendly and provided us with any information we needed. She also made us homemade bread, so when we came in late and were hungry--her delicious bread was waiting for us! YUMMY! GREAT TIME! Thanks so much! ##### Sue K. I can't say how many times we were thanked for coming. Our snorkeling excursion could hold 67 pp....we had 18\. The location of this condo was great! (not close to the fire area). A lot of restaurants, shopping, etc. within a short drive. It was great to have 2 bedrroms with ocean views. Several beach chairs, umbrella, ice chest, ect at the condo. Was great to load in the car and explore other beaches. Was also fun to sit in the hot tub at night. Margie, the owner, was attentive and has kept up the maintenance at the condo. ##### Carla B. Our party of four enjoyed this property fully. Every morning was beautiful. Loved watching the sunrise on the Pu'u Kukui mountains across the bay from the master bedroom balcony. The ocean view from the condo was beautiful and easily accessible just a short walk. The property was clean well maintained and had all the necessary amenities along with a great pool and hot tub. We were only minutes away from delicious food. I'm not sure if it was the circumstances of the island at the moment or the norm but the restaurants close early (8pm). I recommend renting car there are so many spectacular sites and wonderful adventures on this island! Margie was a great host. She quickly and kindly responded to all of my questions before and during our trip. She eased our nerves as to whether we should cancel our travel plans due to the fires on maui. Glad we kept our travel plans and had a spectacular time. Overall: I would stay here again and recommend choosing this condo and Margie to anyone considering Maui. ##### Cynthia D. The property is older, but sill in good condition. The condo had a great view of the Pacific and West Maui. Our host was wonderful. Overall a great value. Check in was very easy, and the unit was very clean and well appointed with everything we needed for our stay including beach towels, chairs, and boogie boards. Location was safe and easy to get to shopping as well as other parts of the island. The ocean view from this unit was amazing. There is a beach across the green space, which is beautifil to look at, walk on, and watch the amazing sunset from, but not great for swimming due to the amount of coral that is constantly washing up. But there are many nearby swimming beaches that are easily accessible. Margie is an excellent host with wonderful communication skills.
