Enjoy Hawaiian Paradise in our comfortable fourth floor, two bedroom, two bath, air-conditioned oceanfront condominium (830 sq ft). Kihei Surfside 414 features a relaxed environment with a tropical ambiance. We are very pleased to share the modern and spacious feel resulting from our recent high end full remodel and refurnish. As this is a corner unit, on the mauka (mountain) end of the building, the wrap around windows provide a spectacular view of the ocean and Haleakalā, or the East Maui Volcano (tallest peak 10.023 feet) which forms more than 75% of the Hawaiian Island of Maui. Kihei Surfside 414 has great ocean views from the kitchen, living room, dining area, master bedroom and lanai. Gentle breezes from the mountain provide natural cooling in the evening. New tile flooring greets you as you walk in and continues throughout the kitchen, dining area, living room and lanai. New hardwood flooring in both bedrooms. There are ceiling fans in both bedrooms, the living room and dining area to keep you comfortable. The timeless kitchen and bathroom cabinets are caramelized bamboo. Striking granite in the kitchen includes a roomy peninsula with two bar chairs. You will find new GE Stainless Steel appliances in the kitchen, including a noticeably quiet dishwasher and disposal. Please enjoy the Keurig coffee maker and Breville toaster. The beautiful hand carved mahogany dining table with seating for 4 is truly a statement piece. Furniture in the living room is new and offers a modern, tropical feel, along with comfort! There are wall mounted, flat screen smart TV's in the living room and guest bedroom, featuring free guest Netflix. Dimmable LED lighting adds a nice touch. Note: Livingroom has a queen-sized sofa bed. The master bedroom is on the ocean side of the building. It has a queen bed, and the ocean is also visible from the master bath shower. The master bath features a comfort height vanity topped with subtle tone granite, extra cabinet space and a lovely walk in shower. The second bedroom has two twin-sized beds. With advance notice, the twins can be pushed together to form a king-sized bed. The 2nd bedroom also has a full bathroom with the comfort height vanity and granite top and a clear glass enclosed shower. Lounge on our spacious lanai with a bistro set, plenty of room for four guests, overlooking the ocean and a gorgeous manicured lawn. A spectacular place to enjoy your morning coffee or a romantic oceanfront dinner! Viewing of whales in season. Our condo features striking artwork from local artists, highlighting the beauty of Maui. This condo is fully equipped with fresh linens and towels, hair dryer, iron/ironing board. All units have beach towels and a cooler. Umbrellas and snorkel gear are NOT supplied, but are often left behind in the units by other guests – no guarantees. The Kihei Surfside office loans out beach chairs free of charge during regular business hours - Monday to Saturday. Office is closed Sundays and Holidays. The washer and dryer in the unit is a welcome plus - better than the trips to the laundry room. The unit utilizes a convenient keyless entry system and a personal safe. Much time and care has gone into making Kihei Surfside 414 an amazing condominium and we are proud to offer it as a prime vacation rental property. The unit has free, wireless high speed internet and free long distance calling to the United States and Canada. It is also equipped with a state of the art Oracode door lock, whereby each guest is issued a unique code which controls the door only during their stay. No keys! The Surfside is an ideal oceanfront location and has much to offer for first time visitors as well as returning guests. The lawn is at least twice the normal size for a condominium complex. This allows ample space for everyone to enjoy - from sunbathing and reading to family activities (whale watching in winter months). Great snorkeling can be enjoyed just off the Surfside and the beautiful Keawakapu Beach is just steps away. It is ideal for morning and evening strolls along with swimming, boogie boards and soaking up the Maui sunshine. Guests and owners often gather on the lawn at sunset to take in the beauty and mingle, if desired. Many bring refreshments and share their experiences of the day. A heated pool is located near the ocean along with a BBQ area for your use. The Kihei Surfside Complex Renovation was completed in late 2015 with the installation of all new windows, doors, lanai surfaces and glass railings, as well as painting of the building exterior. All of which significantly enhanced its appeal. It's a short walk to the north part of Keawakapu which is a long and very nice beach. The condo has AC and is very modern. Beds were comfortable. Shower was good. Kitchen appliances and supplies were good. The condo supplied beach chairs which we brought to the beach. Nice lawn area to watch the sunset. The community grass area downstairs was perfect for bbq and watching the sunset. Big enough for those enjoying the view and also allowing for little ones to play and run around. Washer/dryer in unit a plus! Furniture in great condition like photos show, not worn or old like some rentals. Only thing we had a hard time with was the stove. The dials to turn on the stove was rubbed off so we had to guess which way was low vs. high. Not a big deal, just be mindful when using the stove. Small issues we ran into were addressed right away by onsite manager. Good communication and responsive to our needs. We were overlooking a large manicured grassy area that we played frisbee on most nights (they even had a putting green). It was also the best place to watch the sunset. The unit was described with one room having twin beds but could be pushed together for a king and that wasn't the case. The twin beds were bolted to the wall. But after contacting management they said they would change the description on the website for future renters. Over all it wasn't a big deal. There is no AC in this unit and I wasn't aware of that either but the breeze off the water was great! (they were also installing units while we there so this might not be and issue in the future) The cable box wasn't working the first day but again contacted management and they directed us to someone in the office that could help and we never had an issue again. The floors were a bit dirty (probably sand that blows in through the windows) and I'm guessing that's a problem everywhere you stay with tile floors. Overall we were very happy with this condo and would love to stay again! ##### Barb N. The carpet in the bedrooms was filthy and the upholstered furniture was quite dirty. The owner Larry offered to have it cleaned after we checked in. Who wants to deal with cleaning people coming in while you’re on vacation? This should have been taken care of before anyone arrives. The view and the grounds were quite nice. The unit was exactly as described and met all expectations. While we knew it didn’t have a/c at the time of booking, it would still be nice to have especially during the afternoon hours when it gets hot. However, it was not a deal breaker for us. We have a couple of minor issues but the property management company took care of those immediately, even on a Sunday! That was amazing service. Very thankful for such great customer service!! The roosters are present but after we got used to their noise it didn’t bother us anymore. Just part of island life. The grounds and common area (eg grills) were impeccably clean! 5 stars to Surfside propriety management team for maintaining it. They kept the elevators, hallways, grill and pool area very clean in a daily basis. The bathroom by the pool was also spotless! It was dry all every time & kept very clean. Highly recommend Surfside for your stay! The beaches were amazing as was the snorkeling & hiking. Maui definitely offers a-lot for anyone & everyone. The condo is super clean and well updated. I really appreciated having two bedrooms, and my sons (8 &11) loved having their own beds and own TV at night. We’d had a problem with another condo double booking and this property was able to get us in last minute. There isn’t a single thing we would change in the condo. ##### Lyndsey S. Direct view of the ocean from the patio and also from the edge of the living room. Being a corner unit, you get a panoramic view of mountains and ocean. The owners have taken care of small things like beach chairs, boogie boards, beach umbrella, etc. They even extended the check out time till 6pm because nobody was checking in that evening. Community is well managed. There is a huge grass lawn between the building and the ocean, almost like a private patio, green like a golf course. There are plenty of lounge chairs in the lawn and you can sit on the edge of the water relaxing on the chair for most relaxing sunset view. The community has taken care of small little things like coffee in the morning in the lawn, bocce balls, books, DVDs. Minor nickpicks but no fault of the property owners: Sunset is blocked by the Lanai island unlike from Kaanapali. Patio does not face the ocean directly although it still has great ocean view. Units ending in 01 (101, 201, etc.) possibly have better ocean view. Sand beach is behind the other building next door, so it needs 5 min walk. Minor fixes I wish they address: The main door to the unit needs needs lot of force to open/close. The shower arm does not stay in place. And yes, leaving a couple of extra bath tissue rolls wouldn't hurt, for a week long stay. Stocking little packs of salt, pepper, sugar ketchup etc. would go a long way in making the stay a litlte more convenient. ##### Apoorv S. Wonderful location , great, easy accessible beach, and close to anything we needed. Will be back. Vies from this end room, out the windows, are breath taking! ##### Julie L. ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### Greg H. 24 oct. 2021 #### Rooster Ranch Kihei Surfside is adjacent to Keawakapu Beach, one of Maui’s best beaches and has a large lawn area to enjoy turtle watching the beautiful sunsets. UNFORTUNATELY, the property administrators have allowed the chicken population to overrun the property. By their own count there 50 roosters that freely roam the grounds and begin crowing around midnight and don’t stop until noon making a restful night’s sleep impossible. Management’s solution to the problem is to offer guests COMPLEMENTARY ear plugs. Because of this and the excessive road noise we will not be staying here again. ##### Greg H. A beautiful grassy park bordering the ocean, the West Maui mountains in the distance…you couldn’t ask for more. The windows gave us a view of the sun rising and Haleakala. The beach was just around the corner and a perfect morning walk…never too crowded. Our only complaint was that without air conditioning we had to keep the windows open. Ordinarily, not a problem except for 2 factors…the pool remodeling created lots of dirt and the roosters made sure we were awake at 2 am every morning. ##### Melissa N. The pictures are accurate, and it gets an enormous amount of sunlight. The kitchen utensils + cookware are good, internet is solid, the beds were comfortable. The screw-down umbrellas were great. The nearby beach is very relaxing with a mild shore break and good for relaxing. The restaurant next door is expensive but great, and there's an overpriced-but-oh-so-handy-you-are-glad-its-there convenience store in the next door building as well. The lawn is a great place to watch a sunset. Parking was easy. Many molokini snorkel tours depart from the boat ramp next door; it's easier to walk there than drive. Overall, the only things that bothered us were Hawaii things, not problems with the unit: Those roosters wake up early, and you'll have the windows open because of the no AC, so some walgreens earplugs will come in handy. ##### Voyageur vérifié Séjour de 8 nuits en mai 2021 ### 2/10 – Terrible #### tommy c. 1 mai 2021 Points faibles : Propreté #### Unpleasantly surprised Although the location and room could be decent the experience was far below expectations. We arrived late after a long day of traveling to notice the sheet were not clean. As we went in the bathroom there was a cockroach dead behind the bathroom door. There were crumbs on the nightstand. As we opened windows there was black ash like stuff that blew from under the couch all around the floor. The place clearly had not been cleaned. The next morning we found more of the same. The coffee pot was still on with old coffee in it. The toilet seat in one of the bathrooms was cracked and pinched you every time you sat on it. Try to shower and the drain backs up so bad you are standing in a pool of water. So bad we all had to use the one small shower. The poor care and cleanliness of the room actually really made our stay unpleasant. These are all of the things that could be controlled if someone was properly maintaining the room. There were also a few things we didn’t like about the room/property that just are what they are but should be mentioned. There is no AC so you need to keep the windows open. which we knew but we didnt realize tons of roosters would wake us up all night and morning. Another thing is this room over looks the dumpsters and almost every morning with windows open you here the truck emptying them. It also overlooks the maintenance which is a bit noisy with open windows. These things are worth mentioning but could have been overlooked had the room been maintained or even cleaned. Overall it was far below what we have experienced in the past with other rentals. We would not consider staying here again.
