This third floor oceanfront condo at the Kihei Surfside Resort is located on quieter side the building and has a lovely ocean view from the kitchen, living room, dining area and lanai. It is one of the larger, 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath units (680 sq ft). With the exception of the bedroom, the unit is tiled throughout. It has been tastefully remodeled to a very high nice standard. The unit has maple cabinetry and gorgeous black granite countertops which are consistent throughout the unit. The beautiful kitchen is well equipped with stylish black and stainless steel appliances, including a large refrigerator with ice maker, flat top stove with microwave hood fan above, full size dishwasher and garbage disposer. The living room has a queen size sofa-bed and a comfy swivel rocker rattan basket chair. There is a large flat screen LCD color TV, DVD player, stereo and multi speed ceiling fan. The dining area has a round rattan glass table with 4 matching chairs. The large lanai has a bistro table with two padded bistro chairs - a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or a romantic oceanfront dinner! The entry hall is very spacious, with a large built in maple/granite buffet, and a functional desk area with a ergonomic leather office chair and second desk area. The bedroom has a King size bed, multi speed ceiling fan and Hawaiian style rattan furniture. The master bathroom has a full size, walk in shower with bench and large grab handle, with the same gorgeous cabinetry and countertops earlier described. The half bath is equally as tastefully decorated. This condo is fully equipped with fresh linens and towels, hair dryer, iron/ironing board. All units have beach towels and a cooler. Umbrellas and snorkel gear are not supplied, but are often left behind in the units by other guests – no guarantees. The Kihei Surfside office loans out beach chairs free of charge during regular business hours - Monday to Saturday. Office is closed Sundays and Holidays. The unit has free, wireless high speed internet and free long distance calling to the United States and Canada. It is also equipped with a state of the art Oracode door lock, whereby each guest is issued a unique code which controls the door only during their stay. No keys! This unit is an excellent choice for guests who are looking for a spacious, private, comfortable, condo in a quieter part of the property with a great ocean view. It is customary for the residents of the Kihei Surfside to gather each evening for cocktails on the shore near the tiki torches for a traditional Hawaiian sundown ceremony. This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and fellow vacationers! Kihei Surfside Resort is located at 2936 S. Kihei Road, South Kihei at the entrance of beautiful Wailea. This is the desert part of Maui, where the sun shines more than any other part of the island. The Kihei Surfside Resort consists of an absolute oceanfront concrete building of 6 floors and 84 deluxe units with an elevator. There are two very nice oceanfront restaurants within 100 yards of the resort. The Grand Wailea Hotel, The Shops at Wailea and Wailea/Makena Golf Courses are close by and Kahalui airport is just twenty-five minutes away. Rental cars are available at the airport or in Kihei town. There is free parking on site. Just a few minutes from the airport are Costco, Wal-Mart and Sears. A short drive from the resort is Safeway, Foodland and Star Market, where you can stock up on groceries. Right across the parking lot from the Surfside is an upscale deli/grocery store for last minute items, and a yoga studio. The world class golf facilities of Wailea and Makena are nearby. Windsurfing, and many other water activities are also available nearby. Some of the best snorkeling on Maui is steps from the property. The Pacific Foundation conducts their annual whale count from the Surfside property. The Kihei boat ramp, from where the pleasure boats and sightseeing/snorkeling tours depart, is a five minute walk. Kihei town itself is only a few minutes away by car and boasts many fine restaurants, video and gift shops. Historical Lahaina and beautiful Kaanapali beach are a scenic 25 minute drive towards the western part of Maui. Rates for one bedroom units are for up to 2 people. 3rd and 4th persons in the unit are $25/nt for adults and $15/nt for persons under 18\. Maximum 4 people. From the moment we booked, the instructions we received were clear, detailed, and very helpful, which made our arrival stress-free. The condo management team and staff were warm, friendly, and always accommodating.The condo itself was bright, airy, and perfectly located, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. Watching the sunrises and sunsets from there was absolutely unforgettable. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared—from the comfortable furnishings to the fully stocked kitchen—making it easy for us to relax and feel completely at ease.One of our favorite routines was starting the mornings with tea on the lanai, listening to the gentle waves and enjoying the warm island breeze. No check in process as this was handled by a management company. The A/C worked fine as well as everything else. TV was a lil hard to figure out but we did. No blender and no ironing board which we had hoped for. They did have an iron though which worked. I’m sure we could have gotten an intoning board from the office. We did use the kitchen and made meals there. It did have everything we would have needed. The unit did have beach towels and ice coolers for our trips. No chairs or umbrella in the unit but the office has nice chairs free of charge and we rented the umbrella next door which is a must during the summer. Overall the grounds were well maintained. It could have been a lil cleaner meaning the leaves etc falling from the trees outside. The manicured green lawn was perfect and sitting on the benches early in the morning or grabbing a lawn chair for the sunset was epic. It’s always a show for the sunset and prime spot for it as others were there too in order to watch it. The beach next door is perfect plus they have a general store for literally any needs you have and reasonably priced. Also snorkeling at that beach was good too as we saw many fish and turtles. Overall good value and nice place. Easy walk to the beach and local markets. Check in and out process was super easy. Plenty of towels for the bath and beach plus coolers to use as needed! The condo is in a perfect location to the beach, food, entertainment, walking paths, and has amazing views. It was clean and everything was in working condition. The condo was a perfect size for 2 of us, and we really enjoyed the view. What was even more wonderful was the whole condo building! There is a wonderful lawn with lawn chairs to use, a nice pool, and just steps away from one of our favorite beaches on Maui. The front office has plenty of beach chairs too. Everyone was so friendly in the building, and you can tell that the owners take good care of the units, as well as the HOA taking great care of the grounds. There is a really nice sense of community in this area, and I appreciated it being less touristy than other spots on the island. We can't wait to come back! ##### Mary Jane Y.
