Popular River Run Village is located at the base of the Keystone gondola and in the middle of all the action. Great Location!

Very nice property. Short walk to the ski lift and in the middle of the ski village for access to restaurants and shopping. We had a small issue with the unit and the owner was very responsive and had the issue corrected on the same day (which was Sunday). The unit was roomy and quite comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location

The location is perfect - very close to the gondola. Pluses: large fireplace, nice view, bed/bedding, shower – water pressure and shower head, appreciated the water filter pitcher in the fridge. Minuses: only one key card provided – those things are unreliable and one key doesn’t allow you to split up; very strict on check in/check out times; only one small hot tub on the property (which was scalding hot one day we were there!) with others at Dakota which isn’t that close when you’re in a swim suit; the kitchen is very small and could use with a few more provisions – namely there was only one skillet which made cooking meals difficult (there were pots, but only one pan). The unit is very close to the elevator which is convenient, but you do hear the “ding” every time someone uses it. We had a little trouble getting clear answers to our questions and the internet wasn’t working when we were there. All in all a great place, but obviously a managed property rather than an individually owned “BnB” type rental.

Construction

There was major construction where a new townhome community is being built, less than 100 ft from the property. This changed the advertised view/ online pictures and added a lot of noise, starting at 7am every morning. This new construction project was not advertised. I spoke with the property manager and he offered an alternate property that was further from the ski gondola. We decided to stay, thinking there would be no construction on the weekend. There was construction on Saturday, but not on Sunday. We received a small discount off the price. Otherwise, the property was very nice.

We had a great experience at Mat & Penni's. Very comfortable place with all the amenities we needed. Proximity to the slopes was excellent - from the ski locker downstairs to the actual lift is about 150 meters. Being in the heart of River Run Village, you are close to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Ski Lodge Feel

Excellent location, some issues but property manger was very responsive

We have stayed in Black Bear in Keystone over the years. It is hands down the BEST location (closest units to the River Run Gondola) that you can get and this unit is no exception. There were some issues with check in, our key did not work and we needed to get new keys, and we were also missing some linens for the sofa bed for the kids, but upon contacting the property manager, both issues were quickly resolved. I do think some items in this unit could be updated (master mattress seemed to sag on both sides of the bed, like it was overly worn), master comforter seemed a bit worn, carpet throughout unit made it challenging with wet ski items at the end of the day (other unit have had hard flooring that we have stayed in, in past years). However, the price was great and the location was great. As previously mentioned any issues we contacted them about were quickly resolved too.

Great upgrades kept the mountain like theme with a modern twist. Very clean, literally a few steps away from a coffee shop. Great stay! The kitchen was out of salt but we managed with the close by store ;) 10/10 recommend!!!

Great location, however: furniture outdated, very worn. Couch not made for short legged folks; chairs sank to floor when you sat in them; You needed a stool to get in the master bed (owners must have been NBA players). However, in lew of these things, location is everything and this condo fit that bill.

Location is great for this unit. However, the unit needs updating. Pillows for the beds were all flat and uncomfortable, sheet on master bed had stains, there were coins and dirt on living room carpet upon arrival and ice bin was extremely dirty in freezer. Unit was not cleaned properly prior to our check in. The keys cards did not work for the unit and after contacting owner he said he would text me the lock box info for a 2nd lock box. He never texted me the info and I had to reach out to him late at night and he finally responded after we got locked out of the building at 9:30pm at night. He never apologized for the inconvenience and didn't seem to care.

Great Stay!

Overall we enjoyed a great stay at this property. Perfect for a couple enjoying time on the slopes. It was a 3 minute walk to the gondolas and had several dining, grocery and shopping options right downstairs. The property was clean and the ski lockers downstairs were a convenient plus!
