It's nestled within Key's West world-famous Truman Annex where you'll find charming streets, white picket fences and tropical landscaping. You'll love that we're close to the beach and many attractions, yet in a peaceful part of town. Our location can't be beat! It's just a few blocks from the action of Duval St and a quick bike ride or walk to beaches at Ft Zachary Taylor. The Southernmost Point, Key West Amphitheater and Mallory Square are all within walking distance. Being an end-unit, #1 at the Foundry has a few \*bonus features\* you'll enjoy. The first bonus is an additional wall of expansive windows and an extra French door. The result is an abundance of natural light and views of tropical landscaping. The second bonus is that this unit has TWO lovely, tropically landscaped gated courtyards. The first is on charming Front St, inside a pretty iron gate. The second is even larger and is on the Eaton St side. It's accessed through the extra French door which is in the kitchen, making it very easy to move food and drinks outdoors. The side yard is especially beautiful in the late afternoon and makes a great place to hang out or have dinner. There's a private gate to Eaton St and it is just steps away from your designated parking spot. It's unusual within the Foundry to have two yards and all the extra windows. We love the additional space and all the extra light. We think you will love it too. #1 at the Foundry is a three story home. On the first floor, you'll find the spacious living, kitchen, and dining areas, along with a half bath. High ceilings make the space feel even larger. Up the stairs, you find the primary bedroom which has a king sized bed and French doors leading to a patio that overlooks peaceful Front St. There is an en suite bath and laundry on this floor. The top floor is home to another private bedroom with a queen sized bed and en suite bath. Each bedroom has a TV. The historic red brick Foundry structure was built in the 1800's as a part of an annex to Naval Station Key West. The historic building was re-imagined in the 1990's as townhome residences in what is now known as the upscale residential neighborhood of 'Truman Annex'. This charming island neighborhood was named for President Harry Truman who spent his winters in at the Annex in his home known as 'The Little White House.' His famous residence, which is now a museum, is just down the street from the Foundry. A heated pool, shared only by those staying at the Foundry, is just moments away. Within this gated area, you'll find abundant lounge chairs and a restroom in a resort-style setting. Each unit has one reserved parking space. The space for #1 is very close by. When coming in from the car, it's particularly convenient to enter the home through the private side yard and then into the side kitchen door. You may not even use a car while you are staying with us - so much is within walking distance! Weekly check ins/out is generally on Saturdays. Please send us a message if you'd like to make other arrangements. We'll accommodate if possible. Are you worried that there are no reviews? Please don't be. This property has been a successful rental for years. There are no reviews now because the property has just changed hands. Your hosts are full-time Keys residents. They have over 30 years in the hospitality industry and are available to help any time! We loved this property!!!Close to Fort Zachery which was the prettiest beach in Key West. Pool was 92 degrees and at times all to ourselves. Walking distance to Duval and Mallory square with the elegance of a quiet gated manicured neighborhood. Property was decorated in such a comfortable welcoming way.. Patio with gass grill to cook our fresh seafood catch. Purple brand mattress on the bed was very comfortable. Bidet toilet. Townhouse was nicely furnished and decorated. Clean but floors were not clean. Our feet were black on the bottom after just short time of arriving and walking around inside. But lots more supplies for us than past VRBO rentals. Front porch had nice wicker seating for 4 people. Side deck/porch area was a mess with bird droppings and tree droppings; very disappointing. I have to start by saying the community of the property location is fantastic. It is literally a 5-7 min golf cart ride to every thing we wanted to do the entire week! Check in was seamless, an extremely early check in time was granted, & communication was on point when it was needed. I had issues with the VRBO APP & did not receive the info but the host was great.In relating it to me when asked. This was our first trip to KeyWest & we will be back! Only negatives which are no fault to the host is the pool is very subpar for the location, construction was happening daily & 2-3 times a day we would be rerouted to alternant entry gates & detours which was frustrating. We just returned from a great week in KW with our friends. The property is in an ideal location within a quiet neighborhood and only minutes walking distance of both Duval St and the waterfront as well as a grocery store, so we didn't need a rental car. The unit is a nice size for 4 adults and well decorated and maintained and matched what we saw on the website. Although we didn't cook much, the kitchen was well stocked. The pool for The Foundry was a little on the small size but that didn't keep us from getting wet and cooling off. The host was very responsive to emails, typically responding within minutes. This place was perfect for providing a blend of peacefulness with some Key West fun. It is in a beautiful, quiet, gated community that is a mere couple blocks away from the restaurants and bars of Key West. The property was exceptionally clean and well-appointed, and the communication with the host was very prompt. It is very close to a park with a parcours path for a morning workout, and a short hike or bike ride to a beach. Note that it is three levels, so you get your stair workout in if you stay in the top-floor bedroom. But it posed no problems for us. And with so limited parking on the island, it is wonderful to have an assigned parking spot. When we decide to return to Key West, I'll look for this property first. ##### Rob W.
