This small, quaint beach home was everything we hoped for and more. It was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and full of charm. The location was perfect: central on the island, making it easy to get anywhere we wanted to go. The home had everything we needed and was incredibly accommodating, from the cozy furnishings to the thoughtful touches throughout. There are loud noises that go way beyond just normal traffic noises. While this unit is not on Duval, Truman gets a lot of spillover foot, vehicle, etc. traffic especially at night. You get the partiers honking, revving, yelling, etc. which is tolerable. What was hard for us was that there is a very loud garbage truck that comes most mornings right by this home at 6 AM as well as some kind of street blower right outside the bedroom wall really early several mornings too. There was a bar one night on Duval playing their bass techno music so loud it was shaking the furniture until 12:40 am. Also, this unit has a second separate unit for rent attached to it that shares the wall and has an upstairs. Luckily the people there were quiet. This location would be good for young people, people that get up early, or a family possibly, but not a couple looking for a quiet place to sleep. We used a white noise machine and even with that and earplugs that doesn't cancel out the noise of the large trucks. This is very close to several things in Old Town. The Hemingway House is on the same block! The Key West lighthouse is also within about a block. There are many close restaurants, stores, etc. We were able to comfortably walk or bike to everything we wanted to and not need a rental car.The parts that the unit owners have control over is really nice inside.
