We are located in the heart of Sonoma Valley, the famous Valley of the Moon. The Kenwood House, a luxury vacation rental, has been offering wine country lodging since 1998\. Next door is the charming and historic Kenwood Community Church. The views from the front porch look onto the Kenwood plaza, a quiet, beautiful park. A seasonal creek flows next to the house through the gardens and into the plaza. Power outage protection, solar panels with Tesla battery backup. Accommodations at the Kenwood House include two deluxe bedrooms with feather beds, down comforters and luxurious linens. The Living room has a brand new comfortable queen sleeper sofa .There are 1-1/2 baths and it includes a 6 person therapeutic spa (HOT TUB), spacious redwood decks, gas fire pit, gas BBQ, enchanting gardens, stone fireplace, central heating, air conditioning, free wireless internet, 60" flat screen TV, beautiful fully equipped sunny kitchen, washer and dryer. The base rate for the house is for up to 4 guests. Two additional guests can be accommodated for an additional nightly rate of $30.00 per guest per night. The house is approximately 1/4 mile from Hwy. 12 and is the perfect location for exploring the wine country of Sonoma and Napa valleys. Within easy walking distance are the Kenwood Winery, Kunde Winery and VJB. Also walking distance are two excellent restaurants with many more in Glen Ellen, Sonoma or Napa. Within a 5 mile radius are 3 state parks offering many possibilities for outdoor recreation including biking, picnicking, hiking and swimming. Sugarloaf Ridge State Park offers excellent hiking as well as the Robert Ferguson Observatory, for a look at the night sky. Annadel State Park offers world class mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding. For a taste of history, literature, hiking or a leisurely walk, Jack London State Park is incomparable and uniquely Sonoma Valley. Kenwood is located in the center of the wine country with hundreds of Sonoma and Napa Valley wineries within easy driving distance. Spa facilities are available nearby at the Kenwood Inn and other local day spas. For shopping, restaurants, history and more wine tasting, the town of Sonoma is only a short drive away. Don and Amy are incredible hosts. We walked into the house to find gentle music playing, great bottle of wine and assortment of cheese in the fridge. Box of crackers on the counter and a personalized welcome letter. I have stayed in a lot of VRBO’s before but this way by far the best. They even had bottled water, eggs, milk in the fridge so we didn’t have to run right out to the grocery store. You can tell this is much more than a VRBO property to them. It’s an older home with incredible charm and character that’s been updated and the photos do not do it justice, especially the backyard, which was literally an expansive botanical oasis. It was a great homebase for our journey to all the vineyards in Napa and Sonoma counties and we had a delightful dinner one night at a nearby gastropub and brewery. Also the tasting room for Ty Caton vineyards near the gastropub was an unexpected surprise. I do have to share that our flight to SFO was delayed so we would be arriving at the house much later than expected. As we got closer to the town of Kenwood we couldn’t find a grocery store using the maps feature on our phones (not sure why as we later located a Safeway about 15 minutes from the house) but did find a 7-Eleven where we purchased a bottle of wine and some snacks. We needn’t have bothered because when we got to the house there was a bottle of Kenwood Vineyards wine and a wheel of Camembert cheese and some crackers waiting for us – such a treat! Charming, lovely home with beautiful yards and quiet neighborhood. The pictures don't do it justice. It's truly wonderful! And the home is spotless and equipped with everything we needed. It's also in a good central location between Glen Ellen / downtown Sonoma and the Santa Rosa area. Not having stayed in many vacation homes before I was prepared to be disappointed. But instead, was so happily surprised. And another in our family, who has stayed in many vacation homes, said this was the best experience he's had. Excellent, well-stocked kitchen with modern appliances. Great patio and garden area out back. Comfortable beds and high quality linens. Very quiet at night! The seating in the living room was very comfortable and the fireplace provided nice warmth on the cool evenings. The homeowners are very responsive. Would definitely stay here again! ##### Randall R. The property was perfect for a girl weekend with 4 guests - we didn’t want to leave. The backyard is so charming and quiet - great for reading, relaxing in the hot tub, or enjoying a meal in the backyard. The hosts were so thoughtful and responsive. There are a few shops and restaurants in walking distance, but it was also super easy to get an uber to explore most of Sonoma county. I can’t recommend the kenwood house enough! ##### Emily P. A country cottage with all the modern touches to make our visit comfy, cozy and convenient. Hiked in Jack London park, headed over the mountain one day to visit Napa area, then up to Healdsburg the second day for a wonderful wine tasting at Stonestreet Winery.
