Nightmare

Posted 17-May-2016
Cons: The rooms should be inspected by Wyndham and Expedia and have mold abatement do clean-up
Location: Behind a Costco and Bowling Lanes
The room had a strong odor of mold coming from the AC unit. The linens, also, were permeated with the odor. The bathroom had mold. The floor in the bathroom had very obvious dirt on the tile (not just in the grout lines). After being unable to fall asleep due to the odor, we rose from the bed, packed, and went to another hotel. We have always toughed it out when things were uncomfortable during our travels. This was the only time we have ever felt the need to make such a speedy departure. The level of discomfort and uncleanliness we experienced was a new low in our travels.

Far from Par

Posted 6-Apr-2016
Pros: Overall, it was 1 night. I got in later and only really needed the bed. It was far enough away from the road there was little to no noise.
Cons: Room furnishings, 2 coffees and some employee etiquette training. People shouldnt awake at 6AM to Aretha Franklin and Patty Labelle in lobby.
Location: The Brunswick fun center is across the parking lot. I had no time this trip. But, I think that is an adder esp for a family
I booked an upgraded king. First off, the "upgraded room" was a queen and didnt match the picture. I received the same as every other Wingate room I've been in. AC was off and room was hot when I got in. I turned it on and left for dinner. Fridge didnt work at all. Only 1 regular, 1 decaf coffee. To a regular traveler this is really something that stands out. Clock was 12 hours off. Rust stains running down tub from support handle. AND the desk/chair was missing! They had moved the coffee table across room and put desk lamp on it! REALLY! Adding, they may have been 40% full. Why put someone in a sub-par room? Or were the rest worse? When I woke up, the lady at the front desk was laughing so loud I could hear her joking in the lobby...Sounded like a scene from Sanford and Son.

Less than expected and deserved.

Posted 24-Mar-2016
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Much. See above.
Location: n/a
The front entrance presentation was fine as was check-in. However, the room had several deficiencies. The bedding was stained; the bathroom was out of date with stains in the toilet, around the shower, and the floor. The next morning, the choices were less than most others for the continental breakfast--though the breakfast staff was very kind and accommodating. Overall, we were disappointed with Wingate and will not stay here again.

Convenient for traveling

Posted 3-Mar-2016
Pros: Room was very large and comfortable bed.
Cons: They were out of shampoo!
Location: There was a bowling alley and tons of shopping. Including a Costco.
Close to highway and restaurants. Plenty of seating in breakfast area. Room was clean and large. Lobby was nice.

Not Happy

Posted 28-Feb-2016
Arrived at 3:30, check in was supposed to be at 3, we were told it would be 30 more minutes before our room would be ready, had to go eat then return. Outside and Lobby looks awesome, room appeared to look ok, but, found that bathtub was molded and rusty, ceiling in bathtub patched, bed had sugar and creamer packs stuck between mattress and box springs also a dead bug. We were moved to a 2nd room, bathtub was worse than the first, also found a huge chunk of scrambled egg stuck to the wheel of the desk chair. Bed was fine, slept ok, did not get in shower, checked out, came home to shower. Staff tried to be helpful and was very apologetic but gave us 2 rooms that we would never recommend or stay in again!!!!

The stay was a decent value for the price I paid for the room. The hotel had a few obvious repairs going on what appeared to be from recent water damage, but none interfered with our stay nor the quality of our stay. My 15 yr old son is a continental breakfast connoisseur :) and he wasn't overly crazy about the breakfast, but for my husband and I, to just stave hunger off until lunch, it was fine.
