Great few days and very dog friendly. Decor a bit dated but clean, warm and very comfortable. Big bathrooms, plenty of room in suite, comfy bed. Food excellent, great choice for breakfast and reasonably priced evening meals, food piping hot and home cooked. Sophie loved her sausage for breakfast. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely be back, a wee gem of a hotel

Lovely helpful manager & staff. Awfully small rooms & bathroom. Very expensive for what you get We could not unpack our bags. Dinner limited but very good. Excellent included breakfast.

All information is invaluable to us in carving our daily effort to provide an exceptional service.Naturally, we are extremely disappointed to read your comments. We are so sorry that we were unable to engage with you before your arrival, in order to ascertain your requirements for a larger than standard room and double-sized breakfast. This was not apparent to us until you arrived, at which point, our offer of a much larger room and additional breakfast at appropriate prices was not acceptable to you. Our relationship with persons booking direct is more involved and we are often able to tune into such requirements and discuss options before the booking stage. We would have recommended our Premium rooms, which are far larger than the Regular rooms booked, with especially bigger bathrooms, with extended-base showers. Our standard rooms (as booked) are geared towards the profiles of the majority of our guests. Because they are more generic, they are less costly to provide and so offer a cheaper prospect for our guests. This said, we work hard to ensure that we have all bases covered for less usual requirements within our larger rooms, which offer the footprint and scope for variations in provision. Naturally, because of the additional investment required to provide these services, the price point of these rooms is a little higher.Additionally, the markup on a room that facilitates the convenience of booking with an online travel agent is quite substantial. Our own tariff is exceptionally reasonable and set well below similar properties that are located on the High Street, who, again, place a premium on convenience. Booking direct is always recommended when price is the main consideration. Online travel agents offer amazing convenience and savings of time in research, however. Hence the mark up when their services are utilised.I hope this explanation assists you in your choices of places to stay during the rest of your stay in the UK.

Hello and many thanks for sending a review. We are very happy that you appreciated the dedicated service of our staff. Regarding your comment about privacy, there is a slight overview of one other room from one of our rooms, but it is only possible to see the area immediately up against the window, at a right-angled perspective. It's not a case of being able to see right into the room, unless soemone was leaning right out of the window. We shall, however, place multi-position blinds in the room concerned, which can be closed bottom to top, or in the reverse manner. This should resolve any anxiety about a situation that has existed for over 30 years with no other comment. Best regards.

One night stay, found the hotel was quiet with a view over Pitlochry. Good breakfasts with options for gluten/dairy free diets etc available. Would stay here again if in the area.

Good hotel in good location
hotel in good location, and staff friendly and helpful. Disappointing on arrival as we had been sent email saying coffee, scones etc available before check in but when we asked the owner he seemed to have no idea why we were told this so we had to go elsewhere for the afternoon. However once checked in everything was really good and I would book this hotel again.

We did have a lamp breakage and didn't want to replace it with an odd-looking spare and so took it away whilst awaiting the arrival of a matching pair of new bedside lamps. In so far as I was aware, however, the table remained in place. I am sorry this detracted from your complete enjoyment of your stay, but I do hope it won't prevent you from coming again?

The hotel was very clean, staff members incredibly helpful amd friendly and hotel was located a short distance from the main highstreet. Only issue was that my room window looked out onto another building window so was worried about being seen and also the nar and restaurant area are a little tired but overall was good stay, comfy beds an nice views made it.

Thank you for a nicely balanced review. We know, at our market level, that we cannot be completely 5 star-perfect, but it gives a review so much more credibility and overall usefulness when the cooler observations are matched with warmth. Our bar and restaurant reflect our taste, albeit limited by the resources springing from our tariff. It's all ultimately bound in the desire to keep the ambience appropriate to the era from which the house sprang. We understand that taste is a highly subjective thing. Some love both rooms, some dislike one or other, or both. Most are reasonably happy. I suppose that's the way of things. and we regret that you weren't too impressed. We've already started an upgrade of both venues to some very nice tables and chairs. The project is ongoing and both rooms are getting progressive uplifts.Your room does slightly overlook another, over 20 feet away, per planning regulations. However, that neighbour had to put nearly-opaque stained glass in their window because of the juxtaposition with ours. There is no chance of anyone looking out of it.All of this said, it's fabulous that you enjoyed the attention of our staff and appreciated the cleanliness of the place. It would be great to see you again.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. Hasn't the UK, like the whole of Europe, just baked over the past few days and we are so lucky in Scotland to have escaped the worst by some 10 degrees or so. How fortunate we are that, for the extreme majority of summer nights, an open window more than suffices - far more healthy than air conditioning spreading viruses from room to room, don't you think? I'm sorry we ran out of fans. We really didn't think things would get quite so bad. Our wonderful staff even gave theirs to some guests in need. We were isolating with covid and couldn't even dash out to buy some more. Luckily, it is now back to normal and blissfully cool at night.

We are concerned at a flat response to your stay with us and frustrated that this might have been because of booking a compact double for a longer stay, rather than any of our 3 grades of larger room. Our compact rooms are great for a quick stop over or single occupancy, but lack the space for relaxation or a splendid view. It would be great to see you again, but we would recommend a larger room for a longer stay.

Hidden Gem
We were made to feel very welcome by the friendly and helpful owners and their wonderful staff. We had a very comfortable room with lovely views from our window. Lots of choice for breakfast ordered by email the day before so as to be freshly prepared on arrival to your table in the morning. When next we have the opportunity to visit Pitlochry we will definitely look the Rosemount Hotel up again as we had such a great time.

Marvelous stay at the Rosemount

I was a little disappointed as I had travelled 8 1/2 hours to get there only to be given a room at the back of the hotel. Which I suppose if that’s what’s left however the corridor leading to the room spell really bad. The noise from the room above me was unbelievable I could here every movement by them and their dog as well as the toilet and shower I had to wear ear plugs to get to sleep which I didn’t get much of as the bed was very hard. As I say I was very disappointed as I was really looking forward to my stay but I suspect I was put in the room at the back on the ground floor with not much of a view as I was a Solo traveller.

Very welcoming, wonderful breakfast, room was clean and reasonably comfortable, although the mattress was a bit on the soft side for me. The decor would benefit from some updating but it is in good condition. Nice strong shower over bath and plenty of in-room amenities.

Lovely family run hotel
This is a lovely family run hotel. We had 2 rooms booked and it was just us on the first night. The staff were lovely, nice and chatty, without being overbearing. Nothing was too much for them. I look forward to booking again for next year

Lovely location as its up a hill you get an excellent view. Spotlessly clean be it of an older style decor ie carpets, table linens. . Staff are lovely and help you with anything you need.

With respect to your observations about some of the fabric, we had planned some fairly extensive refurbishment last Spring, but naturally had to hold back because of the devastating impact of covid on our industry. It's great that more folk are drawing the conclusion that spotless cleanliness can over-ride the erstwhile vogue for everything having to be chrome-and-glass-brand-new, however. We have some carefully planned objectives for the coming Winter months which will see a new Rosemount emerging in the Spring. We hope to see you again at some stage. Stay safe!

Okay place to stay in Pitlochry, nothing amazing. Pros: staff at breakfast were really nice and helpful, breakfast itself was good, showers worked well. Cons: Smallish room, WiFi wasn't working, got charged extra when I accidentally put one person for a double room instead of two, generally an old property.

Many thanks for your review and letting us know both positive and negative impressions of your stay. May I firstly clarify that the additional charge was not punitive, but merely, and totally, a reflection of the additional costs to ourselves in providing breakfast and additional room servixcing for the extra person. I'm sorry to learn that you felt that was unreasonable. It seemed acceptable to you at check-in,otherwise we could have discussed a room-only rate. We are an Edwardian property, so yes, that is quite old. We think it's lovely, with a character totally absent in modern buildings,but appreciate that these aspects are not everyone's cup of tea. I'm not certain whether there are any post-Edwardian letting properties in Pitlochry, at all, when I think of it. We apologise for the wi-fi. It has become intermittent in rooms further awasy from reception, though very strong in our public areas. We are having the place hard-wired for an up-to date wi-fi service during the oncoming Winter months as a permanent solution to an issue that was never perfect to this point. The 4g signal is very strong, here, however.

Marvellous peaceful stay- definitely recommend
Wonderful - a beautiful welcoming hotel. Immaculately clean, calm soothing decoration + soft furnishings. Anne and Victor were so welcoming and could not have done anything more to ensure our stay was perfectly comfortable. The breakfast were amazing - a beautiful cold buffet with nuts, museli, cereals, fresh fruit available. The cooked breakfast was cooked to order and arrived timeously and hot. Our evening meal was likewise freshly prepared and our request for extra greens was met. We would like to visit again and would have no hesitation in recommending to family and friends.
