We’ve just returned home from a wonderful 2 night stay with our sons. It’s one of the nicest places we’ve stayed. The staff are really friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious and the spa was very clean and a nice place to unwind. The location is fabulous, there are plenty of great restaurants and pubs a stones throw from the hotel. There are lots of walks from the hotel and a great variety of shops and cafes too. We can’t wait to return!

Staff were very pleasant and helpful and friendly. The hotel was very relaxed and warm with plenty places to relax and chill at the end of the day. Spa was excellent especially the outdoor jacuzzi in the rain!! The bed was very comfortable and the room facilities were excellent. Couldn’t fault it!

Lovely hotel, great location, great staff
My wife and I stayed for a weekend in late September. We were very impressed by all the friendly, helpful staff we met during our stay. Our room was very nice. The bar and lounge are very well appointed and comfortable. Breakfasts in the well-appointed dining room were superb, and the hotel facilities are great. The hotel’s location, in the heart of Ambleside, could not be better. Mostly, though, the welcoming and helpful staff made our stay a real pleasure. Can’t wait to go back!

Great weekend.
Was extremely pleased with our stay. Staff were great and accommodating. I have already reccomended family and friends and will be back ourselves. We were particularly pleased with the rooms( lofts and olive rooms with jacuzzi baths), breakfast, EV charging included and the spa area.

Family birthday celebration
Went to stay as part of a family birthday celebration. We were able to check in to their room early to be able to decorate and we could store the cake in the kitchen for the next day. Our room wasn't ready before the check-in time but we were able to use the pool and spa. I had a separate treatment booked which was one of the best massages I've ever had. Staff were on hand to answer any questions and the food and drink was lovely. Only disappointment was that you don't get conditioner as part of the toiletries set in your room and none was available at reception.

Good place to stay, food and staff was superb.
So nice staff for sure, good location, room not quite what was shown on the initial photos as it showed vaulted ceiling room and we didn't get that though in fairness if we had scrolled passed the first photo's we would have seen the other rooms. Ours was in a separate block overlooking the little stream and trees etc. Nice and quiet but room lack aircon and it was rather warm, we could not leave windows open as lots of insects flying about. Rest room and faculties very good. Breakfast was excellent and highly rated. Walk out the door and your in the middle of everything with shops and restaurants within a few mins walk. Walks again short distance before you found yourself in the wonderful countryside. Overall a good place to stay.

Another excellent stay at the Sally
The Salutation was a great short break (4 nights). Everything was top class, Reception greeted in a friendly and professional manner. Online pre book in easy to use. The rooms were spotless, cleaned daily,fresh towels. Breakfast wide choice of food, more than sets you up for a day on the fells. Evening Dinner again a wide choice plentiful well cooked. Comfortable lounges clean and warm through out the hotel.

Lovely hotel, great position, friendly staff, breakfast was amazing, dinner was okay nothing to really write home about. Spa was quiet, relaxing, pool was cold. Nothing about recycling items, eg papers or plastic bottles, we left then separate from the bin. Would stay again if using a hotel.

AMAZING STAY
Amazing stay at the hotel. Couldn’t fault anything. Staff was friendly and curtesy at all time, even the staff that was were training were so apologetic if they were slow but we have to learn somewhere. Pool area was also clean and tidy at all times. 20 mins walk to the lake which is nice as weather was nice for us as well. Had shops and gift shops on door step of hotel as well. Could of asked for a better stay or device. Will definitely be back in the future.

This hotel always excels. It is in a prime location, has free on-site parking, is always clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. The meals are always excellent.
