2.5 miles from the end of the road to the cove.  Great hike through a jungle that leads to a beach covered in lava.  The hike then turns into a climb over lava, loose stone and boulders.
The cove is a nesting spot for Green Sea Turtles and passing Humpback Whales.

« I booked this property less than 24 hours before my arrival. The hist was very responsive and accommodating. The house is just as pictured. We got plenty of use out of the hammock out back. It was so quiet and peaceful. The kitchen had everything we needed. The air conditioner in the master was nice, although with a nice breeze, it wasn't needed all night. Would definitely stay again. »

« Great little house next to the owner's house. Not a lot of space but cozy. Owner is easy to reach and answers questions quickly. Warm welcome. However the location is not that convenient as it is a good 25 min from Hilo, and the roosters and dogs of the neighborhood are very noisy at night... »

« This is a gem of an Inn with the beach minutes away, so close that you can hear the waves! The property was clean and we had a balcony to sip our coffees in the morning. The location is excellent with the Hilo airport only about 30 minutes away and volcanos national park about 45 minutes. Andy was a great communicative host who gave us awesome recommendations of local places to see. »

"Chambre spacieuse et confortable. Sol de salle de bain très glissant. Chambre donnant sur le parking et un arbre rempli d'oiseaux qui chantaient a longueur de journée. Réfection de chambre très tardive (aux alentours de 17h). 2 restaurants sympas dans l'hôtel. 2 salles 2 ambiances aux alentours de l'hôtel : l'une avec parc et promenade super agréable et l'autre avec bâtiments abandonnés et squats."

"Accueil très sympathique au Check-In avec une jolie réception. L’espace extérieur est super avec un accès à la piscine (un peu petite). L’hôtel en lui même aurait besoin d’une rénovation, surtout au niveau des chambres et des salles de bain, mais le confort est tout de même là avec une literie de qualité. Attention au ménage, notre réfrigérateur n’était même pas vidé à notre arrivée. De plus, le service « voiturier » est à revoir ! 25$ par nuit et le chauffeur n’a même pas été capable de conduire notre voiture prétextant que notre véhicule était en panne… pas très professionnel. Nous avons passé une nuit dans cet hôtel, c’était un très bon séjour dans l’ensemble, malgré quelques points à revoir ! "
