Shadow Lake Cottage -Kawartha Lakes

Gorgeous waterfront cottage situated only 1½ hours from GTA on Shadow lake link with Balsam Lake and a breathtaking sunset Lakeview & a great colorful leaf in fall.

This is a large spacious with indoor fireplace, great lake view from solarium, a 3-bedroom cottage with a boathouse great for all age's family and friends. Total of 9 beds (one queens, four singles, four bunk beds in boathouse) all the necessities to comfortably host 10 adults. Ideal for extended families or larger groups.

Free to use 1 paddle boat, 2 kayak, and 1 non power boat, also conveniently located public boat launching 11Km at "Government Dock Rd", RPM Marina easily located 8.3Km for your recreational activities including boat rentals.
Safety is our concern, so please use your own life jackets, safety gears and be aware of your surrounding at all times.

All linen included and changes on each booked trip, fresh and nice clean through Hi-temp dryer. Provides free WiFi, watching YouTube and Netflix as well as online meetings.


Large 750 ft waterfront lot, great privacy and good for lots of outside activities, evening by the firepit, outdoor furniture, BBQ, and parking up to 5 vehicles on over 100 ft long driveway.

1 fully equipped kitchen, 1 washroom, fireplace, large private backyard, approximately 7Km to convenience stores and restaurants, lake water used( not for drinking). nearby restaurants, LCBO, etc.

Nearby Balsam Lake Provincial Park approximately 7km. nearby Western Trent Golf Club 37km

Really Nice Place for Families and Friends to get together and have some fun on any special occasions.

If you wish to use the firepit please bring your own locally purchased wood.

Second trip
It was our second time within two months so that should tell you how the overall experience was. Everything was great again and our host went above and beyond to make sure that everything went smoothly. We are planning to go back in the spring again

Fantastic girls weekend
10 of us rented this cottage for a beautiful relaxing weekend away from the city. The place is absolutely perfect - charming, well-decorated, well-stocked kitchen, fantastic swimming, and comfortable and clean beds. We all had a great time and would certainly rent this property again soon.

4 day getaway
We stayed at Aftabs cottage for 4 nights The cottage is in a great location beautiful scenery and great sunsets. The cottage is in great condition with all the amenities of home and very well stocked in case you forgot to bring something. The ride into town is 10 minutes away which is very convenient for anything that you may want I would go back in a heartbeat and we have already been talking about another trip to Aftabs cottage. Overall just a great experience

Nice evening.
Me and my friends spent 2 nights ( althought alot of insects and mosquitos) , it was nice , and we had an amazing time , but we faced only one issue , there is only one washroom , and we had to take turns and its kind of confuse , other than that its a nice cottage , but overall 4 stars is good for it ..

Great location with lots of private lakefront and deep clean water off the dock
This rustic cottage is comfortable and has everything you need. The lake is quite busy with motorboats and jet skis, so not always that peaceful. Outdoor shower was a plus as there is only one complete bathroom for 3 bedrooms + the boathouse.

Great rental on Shadow Lake!
Great week! The location - with three sides facing the water - guaranteed a beautiful view, refreshing breeze, and privacy. Lots of action on the lake but we were still able to enjoy the loons, fish, a heron, turtle, and more. Cottage is a little dated but very functional. The owner was friendly and responsive.
