Very basic accommodation and too expensive for such a basic quality The extra charges for sea view is not worth it as it is only small window you can look at The bed specially the mattress uncomfortable and you feel the coils in your back The air conditioning is not working and the room extremely warm I. September

A bit difficult to find the reception, but location was right in the middle of the Riva. Older building, but clean, quiet and had all the amenities for the stay including a small refrigerator & coffee bar in the room.

A beautiful old style hotel in the centre of the old city. I recommend you contact the hotel and use their taxi service from and to the airport as it’s cheaper than the local taxis and makes it easier to locate the hotel in the maze of streets in the old city grounds

Split old town
Excellent stay. Highly recommended, location in old town was perfect. Host met us at the taxi stop and helped us into the hotel and upstairs. Stairs are not an issue AC worked fine in the middle of a high heat period. Recommend using the transfer from the airport to hotel.

We arrived earlier than expected and the staff was polite and efficient in preparing our room and providing a cool place for our elderly mother to wait with a cool glass of water. We felt secure (compared to our other check-in experience on Brac where a rude and intrusive clerk took photos of our passports with his personal mobile phone) and confident during the check-in process.

This was a great 1st night spot in Croatia. Right in the Diocletian palace-old-town. NO parking. Both 2nd-floor bedrooms have windows that open right onto beautiful (busy) square. VERY atmospheric. This was a Sunday night. I imagine this is NOT a quiet place on the weekends or in the middle of summer (busy time). We were there in mid- May.

Perfect experience!
This place was wonderful! The staff were delightfully friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. The TV included an HDMI cord so we could watch a movie off my laptop on a bigger screen. The only problem was when my friend used the shower for the first time, the water came out boiling hot and then stayed cold for over an hour, probably because it expended all its hot water in that burst of boiling water. But it was fine after that initial night. Since checkout was at 11 but our bus didn't leave until 2, they let us store our luggage in the office, which was IMMENSELY helpful. If and when I return to Croatia, I intend to stay here again!

Very service friendly staff and great hotel
We were met by staff from the hotel in a place where the taxi from the airport could drop us off on the edge of old town. He even helped us carry our bags to the hotel.

Fabulous Location
The location is fabulous. Right in the mix of the old town and a few steps to the promenade. The room is located in B&B Kastel, although compact it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The air conditioning was much appreciated. Make sure you take the first open entrance from the promenade, not the indoor market.

Fantastic view
Very convenient for seeing central Split. The room was comfortable and the view from our room was amazing. Be aware there are a lot of steps (no lift) and no parking.

The location was exceptional. You can walk to everything. The windows worked well to block outside noise and the room was overall clean. The staff was polite and helpful. Our travel mates rented the apartment and had a sit down shower that resembled a large sink. Beware the unusual shower if you book the apartment. Also we had some tiny ants near our sink in the kitchen. Even with the ants I would rent this place again without hesitation.

Great location and view!
This was a fantastic little room (2A) overlooking the Riva promenade. Clean, good air-conditioning. Fantastic location just tucked away behind one of the busiest squares, and around the corner from a happening bar. But the room was very quiet. Have to climb some stairs though! WIFI good.

Everything was great. Great location and room. Only negative was that every morning at 6am we were woken up from hanging and scraping above. I believe we were below some sort of room where the breakfast was served and so this caused the only problem

Great view
The hotel was very hard to find and I didn't have roaming so calling was not an option for me. If you took longer than 15 min in the shower, you would run out of hot water. The view was spectacular. A lot of steps, no elevator. Helps to get luggage at check in but no help at check out.

Could have been better for the price
The hotel emailed me and asked me if I wanted a car sent to the airport for 40€. We took them up on it, not knowing prices of Taxis. I think it would have been cheaper to take a regular taxi but it was sure convenient to have them there waiting. Also, the hotel can not be accessed door to door by the taxi so a staff member met us up the road so we wouldn't get lost. This is a kind service, for sure! The room we had was sea view but it was wayyyy at the top, up 3 flights of stairs. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room but it was smaller than anticipated. The beds weren't overly comfortable but we got two pillows each, which is rare in Europe, or so we have found. we enjoyed our stay here and found everyone to be helpful and kind. Also, we had to pay cash for the room and the taxi upon checkout. They don't take credit cards, which was explained before arrival.

Unsolved mysteryLocationCentral Palace Rooms still
We booked Central Palace Rooms for 2 nights. Emailed to tell us we needed to check in at B+B Kastell. I put in that i needed easily accessible as i have dificulty with stairs. Told that this was ut. Palace rooms were full. 3 flights of stairs. Tv that didnt have channels..tea and coffe making facilities but we had to pay for sachets. No milk. Beds were uncomfortable and noisy. Breakfast was not included although we couldve sworn it was included. Same issues on Hvar. The room.we booked for 2 nights was double booked. Booking agency took 50% of the total cost =95eu and we could not get a refund although it was hotel that double booked.. Moral of story is you book with Free cancellation as most places in Croatia want you to pay in CASH.

it was the perfect location
not the easiest to find as it has a back street entrance but the room was very pleasing and very clean. we had a window view on to the square which we enjoyed but if you prefer it quieter instead of the street buzz just close the windows. the sound proofing is very good. the staff are very pleasant and efficient. it is the perfect location for everything including the harbour which is only a few minutes away and you are surrounded by fantastic bars, restaurants and shops.

THE best location!
The difficulty in finding the hotel is worth it. It is right in the heart of all the activity. You do need to walk some stairs though so keep that in mind.

Diocletian palace hotel
Nice inexpensive room with kitchen. Neighborhood is very noisy at night but soundproofing is very good. Excellent location for seeing Diocletian's palace. Hotel is difficult to find.

Great location and view
Location was great. Had a room with an ocean view and a view of the promenade. Close to restaurants and shopping and bus/ferry. Only problem was no elevator and our room was on the 5th floor (view was worth it). Breakfast not included.

The central palace rooms are tucked away and initially hard to find if you come into the palace from the taxi and bus stand. Much easier to find from the promenade which a few seconds walk away. The staff are friendly and helpful and arranged to have us met and taken to the hotel. The room was clean and tidy and spacious. The shower was powerful with constant hot water. Some rooms face onto the square which can get quite noisy, however the double glazing shut out all noise. Cannot fault the place and am planning to go back.

I stayed here two nights. I have also stayed in the Old Town in Dubrovnik and Kotor, and in both places it was very noisy at night and the view non-existent! In this place, however, it was so quiet and the view was perfect!! In the description of the room said "coffee maker" but there was a teapot, which was better than a coffee maker.

Top notch location, yet very quiet at night
Stayed here twice, same price both times but very different rooms. Both clean and functional though. Second had broken shower head (had to hold the head while showering) but it was much bigger, with a TV and kitchenette. Both had fun views of the main square, yet were totally silent when the windows were shut, even though Split stays up all night. Hosts were helpful and kind. Easy airport taxi service.

Fair value and just what we needed
This hotel is located in B&B Kastel and as others have commented is cash only. It might be easier to just book through B&B Kastel if you want the breakfast. Central Palace Rooms was incredibly accommodating and they gave us a third single bed in our double room because traveling with 3 in Europe is always tough. Everything was clean and there was a fridge in our sea view room with a mini bar but more importantly a place for us to keep some of our own snacks and water. The staff was great and managed to get us each taxis for our early morning and late night flights which was much cheaper than the metered taxi rate. I'd stay here again.

Amazing Hotel in Amazing Location
We got in late at night (11pm) and the women working that evening met us here the cab they had arranged to pick us up dropped us off. she helped us through the beautiful narrow streets of Split to the hotel and helped carry our bags up to our room. The Room was amazing! we asked for a sea view and a baby cot, and we got exactly that. The view was on real, and the location and friendly staff made this a spot I will return back to again.

Well located in the city.
The place is a bit difficult to locate in a small corner. and it is not named as Central Palace Rooms but another name.We can't find without the full address.However once you know where it is, it is well located in the city with a nice view, though the small window is exactly stick to the given pictures.
