The whole hotel was very very clean.pool was very relaxing and the room view over the river was great. The only diwnside for us when we were trying to relax by the pool an old american man kept talking very loudly for almost an hour so we just gave up relaxing and decided yo go out instead. We came to find out that this man was not even a guest at the hotel which might raise some safety concerns for some. One night we were very tired and had dinner by ourselves at the hotel restaurant and the food was fabulous and the staff were extremely welcoming. The furnishing is dated but the bedding pillows are decent. As the room faces the river, the other side of the river has live band so it is not suitable for people who are light sleepers (do bring ear plugs). Jacuzzi works well and looks sparkling clean. Has a lovely view of the river. Convenience stores and restaurants all within walking distance. Breakfast was decent. Pool is a social setting. But everything else was rough around the edges. Walls and furniture are dirty/scuffed. Lobby is not a comfy hangout space it appears in photos. Some staff where more helpful than others. It was ok for a couple days. We didn't see any bar so assuming it was in the restaurant and according to Reception only operational during the day. Also if you wanted dinner you had until 5.30pm to place your order as it was room service only, the restaurant did not open. The slippers in your room are used so if you want to use them I suggest socks. There are no cable TV channels for English speaking only the French and DTW news. Room service is hit and miss with coffee and tea so you will need to ask Reception for teabags, sugar, etc. Most importantly there is a long laminated list in your room on every item and what you will pay if you damage, break or take.
