The staff were very helpful, the facilities were clean, but the room had issues. Perfect for a couple of days sight seeing trip when you're spending very little time at the hotel and don't need lots of space. Having said that, it was very comfortable with a good bed, good shower, effective air-conditioning and quiet; all things I look for in a hotel, whatever the budget. The location was fine - very convenient for the train station - but not next to Kanazawa Castle as the name suggests (maybe 15-20 mins walk away). The staff were friendly and helpful. The lobby was welcoming and clean. However, once we got to the floor our room was on, it wasn't so clean compared to other hotels we'd been staying in across Japan. The a/c is seasonal, so in Oct it's only a heater, which meant we had to sleep with windows open to keep cool. It wouldn't have been a problem except it was noisy outside late into the night and starting early in the morning.
