My 5-year-old son is napping (hours on the beach and pool can wear even the most determined non-sleeper down) on 'the coolest bunk beds in the world;' my wife and daughter walked up to the infinity pool for more swim time. It had nearly everything we needed. Management group was quick to communicate, friendly and helpful. When we had an issue with a night stand light, the local manager had it switched out immediately. The view was priceless!! I enjoyed many afternoons lounging on the hammock. Obtaining the key cards and info for the Mauna Kea Amenity package was challenging. The property rental management group is different than the Mauna Kea group that owns/manages the amenity package. While this is fine if there aren’t issues, when we DID run into problems we found it difficult to get answers from anyone. Many people indeed tried to help but nothing could be done until the next day. Would advise anyone doing the package to pickup your package at the Westin before they close at 6 pm and to confirm they have everything they need 48 hours in advance. While we did have difficulties obtaining our package at the start of the trip, we did believe it was worth the money for easy access to beach, chairs, towels and pools. Overall, we loved the rental property and would definitely stay again. Gorgeous view and spacious condo. Well stocked with every appliance you could need. Management was quick to respond to any issues we had and make sure our stay was satisfactory. Pool and work out facility were beautiful, peaceful and well maintained. They had very up to date gym equipment and lounge chairs. We had a terrific stay and would definitely stay here again. Hapuna and Mauna Kea beach were only a 5 minute drive away. We didn’t pay the extra for use of the resort and were definitely happy we didn’t. Would’ve been a waste of money in my opinion. Easy to park at Hapuna ($5 a day) and walk 100 meters down to beach. Also a beautiful walk along a dirt path from Hapuna parking to Mauna Kea beach (less than 30 minutes) if you don’t manage to get one of the 35 free parking spots at Mauna Kea. We did a drop off each day at Mauna Kea, and then one of us would do the walk. Great way to get exercise and the views are amazing. Plus, the pool back at the condo is so much nicer than the resort pools. We had a late flight, so once we checked out, we just hung out at the condo pool for the afternoon. Everything a family of 4 could ask for as far as space goes. The ability to add on resort access is one of the highlights! This trip the only drawback was the towels had to be rewashed before we could use them since they smelled like they had been left in the dryer for a really long time. Mildewwwww. Yuck. No stains but yucky smell. Part of the checkout routine asks guests to start a load of towels but maybe that should be changed to “put all towels in the washer” and have the cleaning crew start the load when they get there so the towels come out Downey fresh. Def a first world problem but worth noting. Thanks for a wonderful vacay. We introduced a newbie to the Big Island and know they will be back. And so will we! ##### Anne Y.
