As it gets very dark early during autumn/winter, it is advisable to arrive before dusk as you have to drive through winding mountain road to get there. Room is big and clean. However besides the onsen, there is really nothing much to do at night as the hotel is in forested area. Dinner is a simple Western Jap fusion food and breakfast was ok. Outdoor onsen is good and looks out into the forest. Staff comprehends and speaks very little English but are generally helpful. You have to carry your luggage up a flight of steps from parking area to hotel lobby but the staff saw us arriving and helped us. It's a small facility, secluded up in the mountains above Furano. The setting is relaxing. There are separate onsen for men and women. Because the hotel is small, when we went to the onsen we were the only ones there. The water temperature was perfect. Our room was larger than I expected, and comfortably fit our family of five. The room included a small kitchen and a stocked bar which was included in the price. We took a walk on the hiking trail around the grounds, and the scenery was very picturesque.
