### Once Upon a Time - A Castle of Magical Sunsets

Summary:  
Charming cobble tower guesthouse only 1km from the beach. Immerse yourself in rare and stylish decor as you wander through time.   
Relax on the porch with serene garden views and breathtaking sunsets over the gulf.   
Shopping, dining, and entertainment within 2km, with Kalamata city just 10km away.  
  
The Space:  
The stone tower is located on the hill of Mikri Mantineia, which is 10km southeast of Kalamata, in the province of Messenian Mani. It is situated in a field surrounded by olive trees and is only a 10-minute walk from the famous pebble beach of Mikri Mantineia, which has been awarded a blue flag for its clear waters. The tower offers a unique combination of hospitality and tradition with its magnificent architectural structure and decoration, along with a beautiful garden full of fruits and vegetables that are available for guests to use.  
  
On the ground floor of the tower, there is an independent studio (guest house) that is decorated in a traditional style. The main tower consists of a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, and a bathroom, all traditionally decorated with rare artwork. An internal stone staircase leads to two spacious and bright bedrooms and a second bathroom, all furnished and decorated with a traditional style. The studio also has a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom, and is furnished and decorated with the same traditional style as the main tower.  
  
The beach is just a 10-minute walk away, and guests can enjoy the colourful and refreshing garden filled with trees, vegetables, and flowers. The garden is ideal for relaxation or for reading your favourite book. Guests can even prepare meals with the vegetables from the garden and cook delicious dishes on the cobblestone barbecue.  
  
Guest Access:  
Guests will have complete and exclusive access to all areas of the house during their stay.  
Additionally, the stone tower features a private pool for guests to enjoy. Surrounded by the lush garden, the pool provides a refreshing escape from the warm Mediterranean sun. Guests can take a dip in the pool, lounge on the sunbeds, or simply soak up the serene atmosphere of the garden. With the pool and the beautiful surroundings, guests will truly feel like they're in their own private oasis.  
  
The Neighborhood:  
The residence is in a beautiful, quiet neighbourhood, only 10 minutes walking distance from the blueflagged beach of Mikri mantineia. On the beach, you may find beautiful and popular café, bars with refreshing cocktails and magnificent taverns with fresh fish and friendly atmosphere.  
  
In less than a mile you have access to supermarket and local businesses so you can purchase anything you might need. There is public transportation available but in case you need any other means of transportation (car, boat, bicycle), you may find everything you need to rent nearby.  
So, you drive a little on towards west you may swim in the blue waters of Almiros (4.5km), join a festival at beautiful and lively Kalamata city (10km) and enjoy the nightlife till the morning at one of the wonderful bars and nightclubs of Verga gazing the city of Kalamata from above (7km).   
Magnificent places can be reached also driving to the east, visiting the Messinian part of unique Mani area. In a 30 to 45min drive, you may find the picturesque village of Kardamili (25km), the incredible beaches of "Delfinia" (31km) and "Foneas" (28km), cosmopolitan Stoupa and Kalogria beach (32km), as well as the fishing villages of Agios Nikolaos (34km) and Agios Dimitrios (38km).

The tower of Kapetanaki, the watermill by the river, temple of Saint Spiridonas (built in 1755), temple of Saint Nicolas (built in 1743)

Byzantine Church of Agioi Apostoloi, The Franc castle with the panoramic view of the city, The Benakeio museum of Kalamata, the open railway museum/park and much more.  
  
Daily trips  
Ancient Messene, Nestor’s Palace, Temple of Apollo, Pylos, Koroni, Methoni, Foinikounda, Neda river, Polilimnio, Beaches like Voidokoilia and Kalogria, Mani, caves of Diros and more.  
  
Getting Around:  
While there is public transportation available, if you require any other means of transportation, such as a car, boat, or bicycle, there are rental options available nearby. Additionally, there is free parking space available on the premises for those who arrive with their own vehicle.The distance from the airport is 15km  
  
Other Things to Note:  
The property is located in a peaceful and quiet area, providing guests with an ideal place for relaxation and rejuvenation. The tower and studio are decorated with rare artwork and furnished traditionally, offering a unique cultural experience.  
The garden is full of trees, vegetables, and flowers, and guests are welcome to use the produce for cooking their own meals. The beach is only a 10-minute walk away and has been awarded a blue flag for its clear waters, making it a perfect spot for swimming and sunbathing.  
For those who require transportation other than public transportation, there are rental options nearby. Additionally, free parking is available on the premises for guests who bring their own vehicle.

#### A perfect family vacation

I have no reservations in recommending this property and the hosts. We had a great stay and the home was everything I was expecting. The host were gracious and friendly—they brought us home cooked Greek treats, which was an unexpected (and delicious!) surprise. It made fot the perfect base for our family vacation.

Nikki and her husband were incredible hosts. The property was clean, well stocked, and had everything you could want. Nikki, the host, was very attentive and even made some baked goods for us while we were there (and they were incredible)! The walk to the beach and restaurants was not terrible, but is uphill. Overall we had a great stay and they were terrific hosts.

Ein sehr eindrucksvoller Platz! Das Haus, die Lage, die Aussicht. Top!!! Die Gastgeber sehr hilfsbereit und überaus freundlich, epharisto!!! Nur eine von uns für angebliche Renovierungsarbeiten erhobene Gebühr war nicht nachvollziehbar. Das war bitter. Kam aber von der Agentur....

#### Can’t wait to come back!!!

There’s not enough words to express how amazing our stay was at Villa Nikki!! The home is exactly as described and more! From the moment we arrived, Nikki welcomed us with homemade jams from her garden and cake! Everything was spotless and organized. The rooms were well equipped with crisp sheets and the beds were very comfortable. We loved waking up every morning and enjoying our coffee on the veranda that had breathtaking views of the sea. Our boys especially loved their morning swim in the pool and afternoon walk to the beach. Mrs. Nikki had plenty of toys and games to keep them busy. Anything you can think of or need she has! We are beyond thankful for her hospitality and generosity, we can’t wait to come back next year!!!

#### Beautiful property and great host

We stayed at this home for 2 weeks, 4 adults and 4 children. The property has so much outdoor space, with beautiful gardens that we all enjoyed. The views are spectacular! The city of Kalamata is an easy 10-15 min scenic drive. The owner brought us fresh baked goods every day - how generous and lovely she is! We loved how this home is not in a very touristy area as we like to really “live” like the locals in the country we are visiting. The home was equipped with everything you could possibly need, very homey feeling, we cooked majority of our stay as we don’t eat out every day. Some other Vrbo properties we have stayed at in the past give you enough supplies for a day or two but Niki had supplies for our entire stay! Now that’s how it’s done well! Thank you SO SO much Niki for your hospitality! Much love from our 2 families!

#### Nikki's Tower Review

We had an excellent time at Nilki's Tower. The house was clean and well-appointed. Niki was a very friendly host who lives on the property and was readily accessible. We particularly enjoyed the pool and outside spaces, including the porch and the rooftop patio, both overlooking the sea. We would definitely stay here again.
