Location, location, location. Manta Ray Manor is a vibrant, 3 bedroom/3 ensuite baths, ocean view 2500 square foot home set on the Kona coast in a private, gated oceanfront community. Manta Ray Manor provides a perfect retreat for your Hawaii adventure. Keiki Beach with its beautiful white sand, swimming lagoon, tide pools and ocean access is a short walk down the Manor's comfortable private street. Manta Ray Manor is an architect-designed, fully functional beach retreat. It's bigger than a bungalow, allowing everyone their own space, but small enough to rekindle the family aloha. High ceilings, expansive windows and large living areas make the home airy, bright and relaxing. The living room, with its expansive seating and 60" TV (if desired), provides a comfortable indoor gathering place. Just off the living room is the tropical lanai, complete with enough outdoor furniture for the entire ohana to lounge and enjoy meals. Relax in the lanai's hot tub under the palm tree framed starry sky. After a long day, retreat to your private bedroom and bath. Manta Ray Manor's master suite is roomy with its own living area, California king size bed, full bath and private lanai with ocean view and mountain. Fall asleep and wake up to the rhythm of the waves. A second, spacious bedroom with king size bed and ensuite bath resides upstairs. Enjoy peaceful views of island pines, palm trees and Mount Hualālai in the distance. The third bedroom is light and bright with a king bed, bathroom and main floor location. All bedrooms have California closets. Two air conditioning units cool the entire home as needed. Manta Ray Manor’s custom kitchen is equipped with all the accessories your crew needs to entertain and enjoy great meals at home. This includes a gas range, large double-sided refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, Vitamix and plenty of dishes, pans and flatware. Just off the kitchen is the dining room which comfortably seats 6. Kona town and famous Ali'i Drive, with their eclectic restaurants, breweries, shopping and lively outdoor scene, are 1 mile away, as is Kailua Pier and its outdoor activities. Fill your days with paddle-boarding, kayaking, whale watching, snorkeling, scuba diving (with giant oceanic manta rays!) volcano viewing... The possibilities go on and on. Or, just relax on your neighborhood beach with a cold drink, good book and peaceful aloha spirit. No matter what you choose to do, these amenities are easily accessible by foot, bike ride or short drive. This is the magic of Manta Ray Manor. 6 beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas, 2 body boards, assorted beach toys, a beach wagon and cooler are conveniently stored inside the side gate. We periodically add items, so this list changes. The rinsing hose is located by the main lanai's front steps. A recreation area is adjacent to Kona Bay Estates and Manta Ray Manor. Feel free to use the tennis and pickleball courts, Aquatic center with community pool, Olympic size lap pool, kids’ playground, horseshoe pits, frisbee golf course, Maka’eo Walking Path and more (indoor facilities may be limited due to Covid-19). If you've never been to the Big Island of Hawaii, it's the largest Hawaiian Island. With 80% of the state’s landmass, but only 20% of its people, the Big Island has wide open spaces, high mountains, spacious valleys and room to breathe. The island also has several volcanos. It's about 20 minutes from the airport and only a 10 minute drive or 20 minute walk to lots of great bars, restaurants and shops, as well as a beach with huge waves. Also only about 10 minutes to the nearby harbor where we met our fishing boat captain and our Manta Ray snorkeling tour. While it's not located near some of the nicer hotels and resorts on the island, and therefore a little bit of a drive to get to some of the more popular restaurants, like Merriman's and Manta, it definitely worked for our stay on the big island. Huggo's is only a 10 minute drive and rivaled many of the upscale restaurants we dined at on the different islands. The house was extremely clean and had all the comforts of home, including a cooler with ice packs, spices for cooking, and plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, and even a wagon to tote everything to the little beach, Keiki Beach. While Keiki Beach doesn't have sprawling sand shores or big waves, it was a perfect little spot within walking distance ( 5 minute walk) to wade in the water and even play frisbee or throw the football-extremely family friendly-lots of kids.Manta Ray Manor's lanai was surrounded by lush plants and flowers, and was just beautiful. We enjoyed unwinding in the hot tub after long days of exploring the island. The hosts were very responsive before, during, and even after our stay. During the day this is not a problem but at night music, partying and cheering from participants and spectators is loud enough to render eating outside on the deck very difficult. We attempted to eat dinner on the deck several times but the noise from the adjacent fields made conversation impossible. It’s a real shame since it is a lovely spot. The house itself is fantastic, very clean and extremely well appointed. The hosts do an outstanding job of communicating with guests. The manual outline places to eat and things to do was very detailed and quite comprehensive. We took full advantage of the suggestions. Additionally, the subdivision staff was very helpful, friendly and attentive to residents and guests. The beach is small but incredibly convenient as it is across the street and a couple of minute walk from the front door. It does have public access with people parking at the adjacent rec center so it can get somewhat crowded on weekends but not to the extent where it is a hindrance. The house is also a very short walk (less than 3 minutes) to one of the most spectacular places in which to view the sunset each evening.While the owner cannot change the proximity of the property to the playing fields and the accompanying noise, it should be noted in the listing. ##### kathleen h. The location is very convenient for access to downtown, you could walk to downtown restaurants and shopping if you wanted to. The little somewhat private beach is just 2 minute walk from thia home. You can snorkel at the private beach when it isnt high tide. There is a beautiful blow hole in the lava bed and incredible view of sunset from this part of the little beach. You could actually just hang out at the home and spend time @ the beach and not even leave the gated community if you just wanted to relax and unwind. We came to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday as well as our son and his girlfriend's college gradations. My son has two summer classes which required a good wifi signal for streaming class participation and the home was perfect for conducting business on line if need be. Master bedroom suite has the nice balcony and ocean view so we used it half the time and let the new graduates have it the last 5 days. Overall I'd say it was an excellent choice for a vacation rental, much better than paying for 3 rooms at one of the local resorts to accomodste all 5 of us. George our host is very nice and very good at communicating with guests, he gave us good tips on the home and area, there was a minor temporary power outage for a couple hours and George helped update us immediately! ##### Grant D. While not located right on the oceanfront, it's a two-minute walk from a cute little secluded beach, where we spent several mornings soaking in the sun. The house itself was immaculate and very roomy. The main bedroom suite was exceptional with a large lanai looking out to the ocean. My son and my daughter with her boyfriend each had their own bedroom/bath. A perfect setup. The sports fields behind the house got a bit rowdy a few nights, but the noise was drowned out by our nightly hot tub soakings. The location was great, too, as a base to explore the Big Island. The owner was very communicative and offered recommendations for restaurants. Overall, a wonderful vacation. ##### Tracy A. Nice guest book available with great recommendations. The poke place was our favorite. I would definitely book this property again. The property was just incredible. My family and I (2 adults, 1 teen, and 2 kids) spent 1 week at Manta Ray and we were so sad to leave. The gated community is extremely peaceful and quiet. The location is ideal and a quick drive to restaurants, shops, etc. We especially loved Keiki beach which is a short 3 mins walk from the property. It's the perfect beach for swimming and snorkeling and makes the location of the property ideal. We didn't need to drive to a beach to swim everyday. We watched the sunset each evening from the beach which was one of our favorite activities. The house itself was even better than we expected. The rooms are all very spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable and we loved having a bathroom in each bedroom. There is even a small "office" space to work from (which hopefully you won't need to use). The living room, kitchen and dining room were perfect for hanging out and relaxing. Our kids loved the huge sofa and it was big enough for all 5 of us to lounge and watch TV. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen which was fully stocked with cookware and utensils. We also loved the hot tub and the outdoor deck. Thank you George and Diane for opening your home. The home is in a very convenient, quiet, well maintained and secure location on the Big Island. It is close to Kona town, the airport and all services but private with its own lovely community beach front. I found that the home exceeded expectations, which were already high, in all ways. It is very clear that the owners care about their guests as the home provided everything one expected in a property at this level but then went above and beyond by having everything that you might have in your own home. The home was immaculate and very well organized. My communications with George were responded to completely and promptly.
