Beautiful home right on the water

Enjoyed a wonderful week stay in Kona with our two teenaged children. The hot tub, pool and exploring the tide pools provided easy entertainment for them. The home had everything we needed and plenty of space, if a bit dated. Although not guaranteed, there were beach chairs, a beach umbrella, sand toys and floaties at the home.We spent a day snorkling at Two Step Beach and another at Hapuna Beach. The sea kayak tour was also a fun hal-day activity. We were lucky to see the volcano begin to erupt on the last day of our stay. Unforgettable trip. You will not regret booking this property!

Beautiful Property, Great Place to Stay Right on the Ocean

We had such a great time staying at this beautiful home. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and there was ample room for all of us to sleep comfortably. The private beaches and tide pools were an absolute win for the kids. They spent hours searching, wading and fishing out there finding all sorts of fun creatures. We went snorkeling in the lagoon and saw lots of beautiful fish and even sea turtles! When we were not at the beach we were swimming in the salt walter pool or relaxing in the hot tub. The sunsets were beautiful and the sounds of the ocean day and night was relaxing and amazing. The house was beautiful and very clean and well stocked for daily living, the neighborhood seemed safe and it was an easy walk to the shops and restaurants nearby. Would defintely recommend and hope to be able to go back and stay here again in the future.

Great House and Location, One Issue

This VRBO was fantastic! The house itself was spacious, had a well-equiped kitchen and had the most amazing view. The location was unbeatable! This home is right on the tide pools, which offers great opportunities for exploration and fun. This home also provided easy walking access to Kailua-Kona. The sunset views were also great. We had everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Unfortunately, we had a negative experience with a next-door neighbor who hurled repeated expletives at my kids, my wife, and myself over the course of several hours. The resident neighbor became irate when we were walking back to the home from town and she passed by us on her motorcycle and felt we were walking on the wrong part of the private street. It's important to note that the VRBO host had no control over this situation, and the house itself was incredibly quiet and peaceful. The neighborhood security and property management company were incredibly responsive, courteous, and understanding when we contacted them, and they increased patrols for the rest of our stay, which we greatly appreciated. We did not have further issues with the neighbor after that day and we believe security and the property management stepping in made the difference. Overall, we highly recommend this VRBO based on the wonderful property and its amazing location. However, we felt the responsibility for full disclosure to share the issue with the resident neighbor.

Wonderful Stay

This is the first time staying at a home, and it was amazing. Its location was great, and the property management team was very responsive. I liked that its in a gated community and in Kona where we had access to all the stores. Will definitely stay here again if we ever visit the Big Island

Great location-not 5-star accommodations

This home is in a great location and has an excellent view overlooking the Pacific, with direct access to a tide pool beach. However, the home is outdated. Internet coverage throughout the home and external areas is poor. There is no SMART TV, just cable on a very old TV. The dishwasher not secured to the cabinetry with door dropping down to the floor or your feet. The washer and dryer are aged, and have rust and mildew. Multiple leaks in the living room and kitchen windows with rain, with multiple window cranks missing or unusable. Missing and/or broken window coverings. No indoor dining room or kitchen table. Given the high cost of this rental, we did not expect to have to deal with all of these issues.

Beautiful ocean front home!

This house was very nice and was everything it claimed to be in it's description. The master bedroom is on the higher floor and is massive, with a private balcony. The two other bedrooms are on the main floor and share a bathroom, Jack-n-Jill style. The kitchen is well equipped with anything you might need to prepare a meal. The outdoor lanai is also very large and has amazing views of the ocean. We did a lot of sight seeing while visiting the Big Island, so we probably didn't get to really enjoy the home for all that it had to offer, but would definitely recommend staying here. Nice, safe location and an easy drive to Kona.

20th Anniversary trip

We had a great stay at this wonderful home only issue was not being able to get the "hot tub" to heat up at all, I know that it would not get above 100 but could not even get it warm, maybe I didn't understand the instructions and it really wasn't a big deal. we really enjoyed just sitting on the lanai and watching the waves come in and out, very relaxing.

Superb Location - Incredible Views

Incredible view - worth it for that. We turned a blind eye to the very used/worn out furnishings, appliances (with exception of refrigerator) etc. because of the view. Beds were comfy though. Pool sits in shade is not heated, it's an ice bath! If it wasn't for view and nearby Queens/Keiki bath hole, I would give it 3 stars at best. Would I VRBO again - maybe depending on what else is available and price point.

The house was great but no words could do justice for the view from either the main floor or second floor lanai. We spent hours out there just enjoying the Kona coast. Most well appointed kitchen I’ve experienced in a rental and loved the laundry room. The Master suite was amazing and we appreciated all the towels. We enjoyed the pool as well. Nice bonus to me since the house is right on the ocean. And the location was perfect! So close to many, many restaurants and shopping.

Great location - property needs to be updated.

We chose this property based on the location and great reviews. House needs some work and some cleaning. Some most notable issues are listed below. Bathtub was clogged and my husband had to use the plunger to open the drain as the water was knee-high when we took a shower. There was mold around the tub in both bathrooms. Ant issue in all areas and needs to be addressed. Upstairs area had sewer issues and every morning as soon as water started running in other parts of the house, the entire area filled with an awful stench. Carpet had numerous stains. Toilet on the main floor half-bathroom was constantly running. Left side of the Lanai door is off track and the right side doesn’t open at all. Please throw away old-old-old teflon frying pans that have pieces of teflon coming off of them. It is a health hazard. Blender blades are GONE. Unable to make smoothies. Why even have it if it is not functional? We loved the lagoon areas for swimming and the well-equipped kitchen. Overall, good location, but would not spend this kind of money for this house unless the owner takes better care of it. Thank you!

Small Piece of Paradise

Property is in a gem of a neighborhood. A real hidden secret if you are not familiar with the area. Great for those who want to escape the big resorts and find yourself right next to a laid back small town. Great restaurants nearby, great swimming hole out the back gate, and seamless check in and out. The one piece of constructive criticism would be replace the dishwasher. Otherwise, great place to land in Kona.
