This direct ocean front deluxe penthouse studio is the perfect place to spend a relaxing vacation right on the ocean's edge!! Literally 20 feet from the ocean, you cannot beat the view anywhere from the lanai!! Perfect for lounging, dining, reading or just relaxing. You name it! You won't want to leave the view! . The condo has all the comforts of home, but you're in Hawaii, enjoying the fabulous weather, sights and sounds! Corner unit (north end) located on the top floor of a four-story building, this oceanfront condominium not only boasts first-class views but has excellent proximity to Kona town and all activities as well. Watch world-class surfers ride the waves while dolphins frolic in their wake. Enjoy seasonal whale watching right from the lanai and get a close up view of the giant sea turtles that come up on shore to sun themselves! (No touching though!) The condo has been totally remodeled in July 2017 with new furnishings, king size pedestal bed, new sofa, bar stools, freshly painted, new ceiling fans, lighting. In May of 2020, a brand new split system 18,000 BTU central AC system was added. This replaces the 9,000 BTU window unit. The condo cools off very quickly now on a hot summer afternoon. Of course most people don't ever use the A/C as you get some fantastic ocean sea breezes since you are right on the water. The condo is fully stocked with all the comforts of home plus many items you have never even thought about. The condo comes with a washer, dryer, dishwasher, iron, ironing board, hair dryer and a full suite of kitchen appliances such as microwave, coffee grinder, water purifier, blender, coffee pot, rice cooker, ice maker, etc. Plenty of dishes, plates, glasses, pots, pans, silverware, utensils, and cooking spices This private condominium has everything you need for an unforgettable Hawaiian experience. The condo comes with plenty of towels, linens, beach towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear, etc. The condo wifi router via Spectrum has just been upgraded to 500 Mps download speed (effective 13 July 2023) The condo is located at the beautiful Oceanfront Kona Bali Kai Property. The condo complex has a nice heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi, oceanfront gas BBQ's and picnic areas, very nice tropical landscaping and a sandy beach area for sunbathing and wading in the tide pools. Lounge chairs are available to all condo guests at the beach front area. There are also some shady spots if you wish to take a break from the sun. There is an elevator to take you to the condo, no need to walk stairs at this condo! The world famous Poke Shack restaurant is on the grounds of the property. A convenience store is located across the street. The White sands swim beach is located one mile south, the snorkel beach is one and half miles south and the Kona Country Club golf course (18 holes for public use) is 3 miles south. This is a truly a condo you will want to return to year after year (as you will see many repeat guests in the condo guest books). The condo is advertised as a deluxe penthouse, which felt a bit misleading. While the space is functional and the location is good, the unit itself is dated and would benefit greatly from an update.Cleanliness was another area where improvements could be made. The condo could use a thorough deep cleaning, as there was noticeable dust throughout, which took away from the overall comfort of the stay.Additionally, the balcony view was not as open as expected. Due to the architecture of the building, the view looking to the left is obstructed, which wasn’t clear from the listing photos or description.This property has potential, but clearer descriptions and some attention to upkeep would help better align expectations for future guests. ##### Tammy T. For us it was to long of a walk to get to stores but we were able to find plenty of parking spaces. We were there right before the womens ironman was taking place. It was wonderful to see so many people running, biking and swimming. The condo is small. They do mention the size of it. Parts of the shower was broke but again they did nention it after we pai and they gave us all the instructions. It was still useable and didnt interfer. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and pots and pans. The bed was ok not to hard or soft. ##### Tammy B. The headline on VRBO reads “Deluxe Penthouse Condo” there is nothing deluxe about this condo except the view.I will start with the positives. The owners were great to communicate with; they were very timely. The view from the lanai is amazing, sunsets every night. Generally, it has the basics of what are needed. I was able to enjoy my time here after a few purchases that I will leave with the condo.My big disappointments…the pillows!! They are like soggy pancakes. After one night I went to Walmart and bought 2 new king-size pillows and cases. I don’t know how anyone has slept on those flat pillows! I also bought a beach towel because I hadn’t seen them in the room yet, they were in a weird spot. But when I did notice them, I was so happy I bought a new one, they are old and scratchy. The bath towels are old and small as well. The TV is a bit of a mess. The emailed instructions are different from the instructions in the room. I gave up and used my iPad. The ice maker doesn’t work. There is tape holding some things together. In general, the condo feels well used and not maintained to “deluxe” standards. ##### Kristin H. With that said the owner’s condo is as advertised and they were super easy to work with.. location and view were sublime, and people within the vicinity were all super nice and welcoming. This unit is a small cramped studio rather than a 1 bedroom as indicated in the listing of amenities. There is a lovely ocean view but the balcony is cluttered with junk and the AC unit makes sitting on the lounge chairs very uncomfortable. There was also no hot water. The building itself was littered with garbage and empty liquor bottles in the motel style hallway, the BBQs were broken and the pool is basically in the parking garage. It is not what we expected for the high price. We were not able to reach the owners other than through the VRBO messaging and they were not interested in hearing our concerns. ##### Lisa R. Can't get any closer to ocean! Close to shops/restaurants but far enough away for peace and quiet. Easy parking. Had slight issue with check in- room was not ready- but communication with property mgr was excellent. Had room prepared within an hour. The 'central air' exhaust blows on lanai, making lanai hot, turn ac off to enjoy lanai. No biggie. Awesome shower but hot water goes quick. Kitchen packed with anything needed. Positives outweigh any negatives by far at this property. If unsure on a place, take this one. ##### Jeff B. Their condos were upgraded and very nice. Ours was more rustic, but at the same time more beachy. Given the price, comfort and view we were pleased with our studio condo. The owners and project manager were great and very accommodating; responded quickly. Only recommendations is that the clean and organize the condo better and clean/dust under the furniture and all the shelving units. My allergies were bad. ##### Gene M. We loved watching the surf hit the shore with the white foam washing up against the black lava rocks. We saw large turtles swimming in the shallow water a number of times which was also a lot of fun. The bathroom is quite modern and the tub is jetted with a wonderful rain shower. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed very comfortable. We definitely hope to be able to get back again one of these days. ##### GALE S. Location was great, easy drive to town and parking was simple and close to the condo making trips back and forth a breeze! Enjoyed the beach equipment they had available for use as well- snorkels, pool noodles, boogie board, beach chairs, beach towels, and cooler for our beach outings! Make sure to bring shampoo/conditioner/body wash as only hand soap was included with the rental, which was no issue for us :) ##### Kayla M. I cannot express enough how amazing the view is. Being the end unit on the top floor means a private lanai. It is located just a smidge south of the main Kona drag making it quiet, yet convenient. The views from the 4th floor balcony were amazing - we could look for whales (and there were many!) and watch the sunsets.
