We love living at the “the Casa”- and we know you will too! Constructed in 1969, Casa De Emdeko stands out as one of Kailua-Kona's first condo buildings, nestled along historical Ali'i Drive. Here- within a unique, gated u-shaped complex- lies a meticulously maintained garden of mature plumeria, hibiscus, bougainvillea, and palms. Pathways lead though these gardens to the mighty Pacific Ocean. We were instantly drawn to the mid-century architecture and lava-stone walls exude old- Hawaiian charm, social cabana dining area, and tiki torches providing the perfect setting for friendly gatherings. It is important to us that our renovated unit continues to maintain updated with modern conveniences while retaining the charming retro aloha-vibe of its original 1960s construction that we fell in love with. Our fully-refreshed-for-2024, deluxe one-bedroom unit (920 square feet) features an all-new king-size bed and queen-sized sofa bed, and a convertible twin chaise in the living room. Here, you can fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean waves with the evening fragrance of flowers in the gentle Hawaiian breeze. If you prefer, close the windows, enjoy the peaceful hum of the AC and get cozy! When you awake, start your perfect day in the sunshine with a cup of world-renowned Kona coffee on the lanai or venture out sleepily to the ocean. We love coffee...maybe you do too! We offer a French press, drip coffee maker, and stovetop Italian espresso maker for your use. Later, unwind in the comfort of our comfy chairs with a Mai Tai in one of our tiki mugs. You will enjoy our central AC, ceiling fans (or both!). We have a Bluetooth stereo, and a smart TV with cable and wifi in the living room and bedroom for streaming. Stay connected with loved ones via our highspeed internet or catch up on work- if you must! Casa de Emdeko 116 is the fourth unit from the ocean in the south building. We have two pools at the Casa. From our lanai (patio) make a left and you will immediately see the ocean and our lava-rock-rimmed ocean front salt-water pool. A few steps further leads to a man-made sandy beach enclosed by a lava stone wall, where guests can lounge on provided recliners under the palms and relax in the sun. The Casa has an unbeatable seating area in the retro-style lava-rock cabana for guests to enjoy. If you turn away from the ocean you'll find another oasis—the second pool, surrounded by palm trees and bird of paradise, offering a tranquil retreat within a tropical garden. In the evenings, the “Casa” is a social place at sunset. You and your ohana can join residents and guests alike to celebrate the end of a perfect day with a spectacular Kona sunset. Tiki torches and the BBQs are lit, and everyone gathers to “talk story” and share a meal with friends old and new. If you prefer a quiet evening in, we have a comfortable lounge and dining area on our private lanai for your enjoyment. Casa de Emdeko 116 serves as an ideal base for Big Island adventures. Magic Sands Beach, Kahalu'u Beach Park, Kona Pier and Kona Town are just minutes away. Beaches, water sports, snorkeling, diving, dining, music, farmer markets and historical sites await your discovery. Kona has many cultural celebrations and festivals year-round that you are sure to enjoy. For stargazing enthusiasts, a trip to the top of Mauna Kea offers unrivaled celestial views. Check in and out were easy. Hot water was out for a day but water temperature for shower was not cold so it was not a problem at all. Complex was quiet. I had the pool to myself for the entire afternoon. Loved sitting reading on the lanai smelling the fragrant plumerias. Condo super close to ocean and pool was very convenient. Always had parking spot inside the gate. Cute market 7 mins walking distance with good coffee and food. 10/10\. Will stay here again next time. ##### Kylie N. It looks to have been recently renovated and the bathroom especially was fantastic. The only downside was the bed is slightly uncomfortable. The property is right along the ocean and the unit is steps from the pool and small beach area. Kona Coast made the process so easy and even called to check in with us on our first full day. The location is great - located along one of the main roads in Kona where most apartments/condos are with easy access to downtown Kona and beaches for snorkeling or relaxing. The unit was very clean and appreciate the fully updated kitchen and bathroom. The internet was fast and two of us were able to easily work virtually and take video calls at the same time etc. There is a small table in the kitchen and a table outside that worked great as our desks for the week. They provide a bunch of great beach gear - chairs, snorkels, toys, and an umbrella which are so useful and thoughtful. They also provided a few treats and a handwritten note at check-in which was a wonderful gesture. A couple minor notes to be aware of: 1\. The pillows are quite flat/soft in case you're sensitive to that 2\. There aren't parking spots in front of the unit so you'll need to walk your suitcases to the unit, but it's a flat path so very easy and short walk (takes 1 min). Parking within the gate of the complex usually fills up by \~9p, so FYI you may have to park in the parking lot outside the gate which has plenty of spots. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely love to stay here again! ##### Stephanie L. Super close to the BBQs, ocean pool, and beach lounging areas, which was a huge plus to just walk out the patio door to get to these spots since the condo is on the ground floor. Only bummer was how loud the unit above us was for the first few days, but they must have checked out as it was quiet for the majority of the days of our stay. Bonus was the little market right in front of the property and how incredibly friendly everyone was who were either living or renting at Casa de Embarko! Close to Kona town and spectacular sunsets. The negative is very thin roof/floors, so being a ground floor unit, you deal with the stomping of the guests above you. And after letting management know, it seemed to get worse. This seems to be a common deal in older apartment/condo units. Other than stomping that started about 5-6am every morning, the place was great. Bring earplugs if you rent this unit. ##### Stacy C. I give it 6 stars! I've traveled to hawaii 11 x's thru the years and this property outshone all of the rentals I've stayed it. There was everything I could possibly need! It was a home away from home. You can feel the love the owners put into it. The decor is so tasteful and the residents that live in the community were warm and welcoming. The only thing that was a challenge was that there was no cell service for tmobile, but I feel like that was a blessing. I was able to step outside to make my calls. I can't say enough good things about this property. My mother is 73 and she fell in love with the condo and the community. We will be back again next year! My deepest gratitude to the owners. We really enjoyed our time in Kona and this beautiful condo was the perfect spot, the only thing that could have made it better was a longer stay. This condo is newly renovated and perfectly done, the beds and bedding were everything described by other renters, comfy, clean, soft and comparable to a 5 star hotel. If I ever have the opportunity to male it back, I would love to stay here at Casa De Emeko 116!!
