Perfect for couples. Just steps to the ocean.🏝 Feel at home in paradise and enjoy the amazing panoramic ocean view from this beautifully appointed condo. Our unit was completely remodeled! Tasteful decor and accents can be found throughout the entire unit. Much thought and love went into the remodeling as it is not just a vacation rental, it is also our second home. This is not the typical vacation rental condo. PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE SECTIONS BELOW PRIOR TO BOOKING: Most of the answers to your questions can be found below and in the Amenities section. Sleeping Accommodations: This beautiful 1 bedroom and 1 bath unit is intended and best suited for 2 people! There is a King size bed in the bedroom. A new mattress was purchased in June 2018\. The Lady Americana Camelot mattress has individually wrapped coils and Gel Memory Foam. This 485 square foot unit also has a Queen size sofa bed in the living room; however, please be aware that it may be too tight when utilized (when the sofa bed is pulled out there is not much room to walk around in the living room area). Air Conditioning: There is a wall-mounted air conditioner ONLY in the bedroom. Central air conditioning is NOT permitted in The Kuleana complex. Air conditioners are only allowed in the bedroom. If you require central air conditioning then this condo is not a good fit for you. There are 2 ceiling fans in the unit (1 in the living room & 1 in the bedroom). There is also a portable fan in case it is needed. Bathroom: The bathroom contains a beautiful walk-in shower. There is no bathtub in the unit. Please note that the vanity and sink in the bathroom is high (vanity is 36" high plus the marble vessel sink on top is another 5" high) making it difficult for children to reach. Linens & Towels: All linens, bath towels and beach towels are provided for your use during your stay. Unit Location: Our unit is located on the 3rd (top floor) so there is no foot traffic to disrupt your privacy and experience. The Kuleana is not a high rise condominium complex. There are NO ELEVATORS on the property. There are 3 flights (7 steps per flight) to reach our unit. There is no one above us and only 1 unit next to us separated by a block wall for privacy. Lanai (balcony): It's all about the view! A large sliding glass door in the living room leads to the lanai (balcony). Take in the views of our neighboring islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i while dining on our private lanai. There is a bar height table and 4 bar stools on the lanai for your dining. Maui living is all about the outdoors. The sunsets from our lanai are spectacular! You may find it difficult to leave. The Kuleana Complex: The Kuleana complex consists of 7 low rise buildings (no higher than 3 floors). The lush tropical grounds are beautifully maintained. Each unit on the property is individually owned. The Kuleana complex is best suited for adults as it is generally quiet and geared for relaxation. NOTE: There are NO elevators on the property. The Kuleana Complex Location: The Kuleana complex is located in West Maui and has a Lahaina zip code (although it is NOT located in the former Old Lahaina Town area and was not affected by the fire). The complex boasts a truly remarkable oceanfront location. It offers more seclusion and privacy versus a resort hotel, but yet is close enough to have all the perks of resort amenities just minutes away. The Kuleana complex is conveniently located within a short drive to Ka'anapali/Whalers Village (3.4 miles), Kapalua (4.5 miles) and Napili (3.3 miles) where you can enjoy a wide variety of shopping, dining, entertainment and outdoor activities. We also have a Farmer's Market just down the road providing delicious produce and treats. Please be sure to see the Reviews section to read about what prior guests had to say regarding the location. Many of them have enjoyed the location of the condo. Airports: Kahului International Airport (OGG) is the main airport on the island. It is 30 miles from the condo (approximately a 45 minute drive without traffic). If you are flying to Maui directly from the mainland, you would fly in to the Kahului Airport (OGG). Kapalua Airport (JHM) is .6 miles from the condo. It is a 2 minute drive. The Kapalua Airport is a small regional airport that mainly operates inter-island flights (to/from other Hawaiian islands). Beach & Pool: The Kuleana property fronts 2 seasonal beaches. Our unit is approximately 45 yards from the smaller private feeling cove. Please be aware that the beaches are subject to the currents and tides and can disappear. Currently one of the 2 beaches is gone and rocky. Winter months are less predictable and the beaches can recede overnight. The amount of sand/the size of the beach fluctuates and can disappear. The unit is near the large gated and heated pool (pool length is 20 yards). Beach towels and 2 Tommy Bahama beach chairs are provided in our unit for your use during your stay. Tennis: There is a tennis court on The Kuleana property available on a first come first serve basis. Tennis court hours are 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM (or until dark in the winter months). Barbecues: There are 4 oceanfront gas barbecues available on property so you can grill while taking in the gorgeous views of the ocean and our neighboring islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i. The barbecues are a very short walk from our unit yet far enough away so that you do not see or hear barbecuing activities from our lanai. Free Parking: There is free and convenient on-site parking for one vehicle. NOTE: The parking spaces are a bit tight so keep that in mind if you are renting a large vehicle. Parking is close to the entrance of the unit making it easier to unload your luggage or groceries. Free WiFi: Free WiFi internet access is available inside the unit as well as the lobby area. Please note that the purpose of the unit is primarily for relaxation and is not intended to serve as a home office. Smoking Policy: NO smoking is permitted inside the unit, the lanai (balcony) or any of the buildings on the property. NOTE: No surfboards or SUP (stand-up paddle) boards are allowed to be stored inside the unit or on the lanai. Golf: We are privileged to have world class golf courses nearby (within a 5 mile radius). The Plantation Course in Kapalua which is home of the PGA Tour Tournament of Champions is only 5 miles from the condo. It is rated as a top 100 golf course in the world and consistently ranked as the “Best Golf Course You Can Play” in Hawaii. Having an in‑unit washer and dryer was such a luxury — it made everything so easy and completely stress‑free.We also loved how close we were to several gorgeous beaches. Just a short drive and we were in paradise!And Lily… wow. She is an amazing host — incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and genuinely accommodating. She made our stay feel effortless from start to finish.We would come back in a heartbeat. We have stayed there 3 other times and each time it is better than the last. The unit is beautiful and stocked with anything you could possibly need. Very clean and so comfortable. The lanai view is wonderful especially during whale season. Beach on property has turtles everyday. The condo is very well equipped for cooking, bbq’ing, and beach/pool activities. The complex is quiet and well kept, as is the pool. Parking was not an issue the week we were there, we were able to park right in front of our unit nightly. The condo is accurately advertised but we found the living area small for a week’s stay. A picture from the lanai into the living/kitchen area may give added perspective. Appliances are all new and work efficiently- super nice to have laundry in the unit. Great location and close to lots of activities - tourist and local. Communication was thorough and check in/check out was easy. ##### Carol S. The apartment is technically a 3 floor walk-up, but it was more like one and a half floors, the stairways are short. The views from the lanai were simply spectacular, we spent every evening watching the sunset from our balcony. The bed was large and comfortable, everything was clean. The road outside was a bit noisy overnight, but I slept in earplugs and was fine. Only tiny issue we had was the cable in the living room wasn't working, only in the bedroom. Host was quick to respond via text. We never got it working, but were fine to watch the ocean instead. Absolutely would not hesitate to stay here again. Perfect for a couple. ##### Molly G. Stairs a little steep especially with luggage, but the climb is worth it! Great views from deck/lanai of the ocean and plethora of humpback and porpoise action. Continuously watching 2-5 pods of whales at any time, bring binocs or monocular to really bring them in! End unit on top floor so minimal noise from neighbors. Bedroom on parking lot side so a little noise with window open. Bar height table and 4 chairs on deck were used constantly and cooler and beach chairs available for use. Full size fridge, stove, coffee maker and sink with counter made snacking great. Perfect for a couple with king size bed and walk in shower. Owner was very responsive when I didn't realize that check in instructions were given couple of weeks before. Only issue and really my fault. I would definitely return. ##### Steven T. The property owner included a wonderful book highlighting local foods, activities and answered questions about the property itself. The property is a nice location between Honolua Bay (Fantastic place to snorkel) and Lahaina's Front Street. \*\*\*Downside\*\*\* (Not the property Owners Fault) The down stairs neighbors smoke Marijuana constantly so if the doors are open the condo will get that smell throughout the rooms. ##### Deven K.
