Access is secure, and is gained by entering codes on touch panels. The kitchen is well equipped. The bedroom is spacious, which was very welcome in Japan. Proximity to the train station and local streetcar station, and to the Sakurajima ferry, was very convenient. Having a grocery nearby was convenient, since we did quite a bit of cooking in the kitchen. Areas for improvement: There is not enough lighting at the wash basin, making it difficult to see when brushing teeth or shaving. Would help to have a recessed spotlight above the wash basin, or lighting above the mirror. Also, lighting above the right bed is dim. Would be desirable to have a recessed spotlight above the right bed. They did not email me the codes to enter the hotel or my room. My room was on the 4th floor. There is no elevator. The stair well had no AC. It was extremely hot. My room was very dusty. But, it is was a large comfortable space, once I turned on the AC.
