We had a nice, spacious (bunk-style) room on the 11th floor, which offered a partial view of Sakurajima. Quick check in at 3:00 p.m. I was asked (via email a few days before we arrived) to complete a pre-check in, which seemed to save time. The hotel doesn't have parking, but we were able to park our rental car in one of the nearby pay lots (1,500 yen for one night). Plenty of restaurants and stores nearby. The airport bus (1,500 yen one way) stops about four blocks away. The trams too stop nearby (170 yen for one ride whether one goes one or many stops). We didn't use the restaurant or sauna, so I cannot comment on them. Though it was November and chilly outside, for some reason, our room was quite warm even after the sun went down; one night, we had to turn on the AC for an hour. Washer/dryer in the room, which we used once. Soft bed with soft pillows. On our next visit to Kagoshima, we will certainly consider staying at the FAV LUX again. Leider hatte ich etwas Pech mit dem Wetter. Sonst ein sehr gute Gegend mit vielen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten die zu Fuß erreichbar sind oder auch für Abends einige Bars in der Nähe. Egal ob Hafen, Aquarium oder Museen eigentlich könnte man alles zu Fuß erreichen. Das Hotel selber wirkte sehr neu. Die Zimmer sehr sehr gut eingerichtet und sauber. Unser erstes Zimmer hatte ein Problem mit dem Abfluss, aufgrund dieser Unannehmlichkeit gewährte uns das Hotelpersonal jedoch ein großzügiges Upgrade in eine höhere Zimmerkategorie. Dieses Zimmer war hervorragend. Das Hotel ist zentral gelegen und bietet fußläufig viele Möglichkeiten. Einziger Minuspunkt waren die unbequemen Kopfkissen der Betten.
