You can hardly believe what you are seeing. First, there is the view. Eight-foot-high and stretching along the entire ocean-facing front of the unit, the floor-to-ceiling windows are filled with a sweeping panorama of sea, sky, and islands. No Maui land in sight from your eighth-floor elevation. The azure Pacific Ocean is crystal clear and punctuated by gentle waves. Fluffy cumulus clouds cluster around the peaks of the neighbor islands of Lanai and Molokai, providing an inspiring backdrop for your sunrise and sunset watching. If your stay is between the months of October and May, you see tall, column-shaped blows from humpback whales in the Auau Channel between the islands. The entire scene is breathtaking. When you have managed to pry your eyes from the view, more beauty awaits. The open floor plan of this home offers a spacious environment with large, light-filled rooms. From the waterfall edge of the quartz countertops, to the recycled sea glass of the light fixture, to the light gray porcelain tile underfoot—everything is sleek, contemporary, and tasteful. The views were incredible and the unit was very well maintained. The property is on the West side of Maui so very nice sunset views right from the unit/balcony nightly. We were also able to see several turtles in the waters below. We really enjoyed our stay here. The host was very organized, providing appropriate instructions for check-in, parking, property rules, etc. and maintained very good communication throughout. There was an issue with the air conditioning in the building during our stay (not the fault of the host, it was for routine building maintenance, and it is back on now), and our host provided up front communication regarding the issue and provided timely updates throughout. Temp AC units were provided during the outage and our host did everything he could to ensure we were comfortable and happy throughout our stay. It was beautifully decorated and the kitchen was very well stocked. While everything was perfect, the very best thing was the view! It was absolutely spectacular. It’s on a super high floor so you can see down into the ocean and see the turtles and we also got to see a stingray! You will also see whales breaching if you go during mating season. Everything about the location is described exactly how it is and breathtaking is an understatement. The views are to die for. Ken’s place was worth every single penny and we will be back! The location of the condo was better than all the resorts in its proximity to the beach. The inside was spacious, clean and felt like we were living in luxury all week. We are very familiar with the Mahana property and appreciate it for its ideal location and warmer weather during the January/Winter season. We saw lots of whales and turtles on this trip, too! The house was stocked with almost everything we needed (was hoping for a beach umbrella) and although the square footage is a little limiting, the home felt large enough for the 2 of us.
