It is a great place for a larger group, with two master suites (one of which is a two room suite) and a smaller bedroom. The kitchen is large enough for a group to cook dinners in comfort and there is both a large living room upstairs and a small one downstairs. It would have been a 5 star if they had finished the pool and spa in time for our family to use it. It was close to being finished. It was in a nice and quiet neighborhood and had fantastic ocean views. It had lots of furnished upstairs dining and viewing areas which were awesome. Once the pool and spa are ready we will request this VRBO again. Also, it's practically on a beautiful golf course. It was stocked with lots of in door games and out door toys. It was close to Whaler's Village, which was great! ##### Barbara F. It is an older house, but it is clean, well stocked, close to everything and has a pool. We have 7-people and an 18-month old baby with us. We absolutely loved the place. The owner, Lee, is very responsive if you have any questions or an issue. We did have a plumbing issue and notify the owner. Someone was there within an hour and fixed the issue. The house was a great place to use as our home base for this vacation. We would definitely rent it again! ##### Don R. Jan 6, 2016 #### Absolutely perfect - exactly what a rental should be The location of the house is super convenient and central as we were a few minute drive from Front St, the Kaanapali and Napili Beach Resorts. The house was absolutely spotless and we immediately felt comfortable in the house. Bruce insisted on doing a walk through of the house upon our arrival and it proved instrumental in helping us quickly adjust to this house. We made use of all the items included with the rental from the beach equipment to the BBQ. If we had more time, we might have even played a round of golf. My family had a great time and we'd love to stay here again on our next trip to Maui. ##### Matthew H. Situated close to Kaanapali resort and Whaler's village. Owner responded promptly to questions and problems. Lots of beach toys for the children. Beds were very comfortable. Cons: advertised swimming pool was being redone and not functional. Owner did reimburse some of rental fee due to said absence. One good beach chair and others were pretty beat up. Apr 2, 2015 #### Lahaina in March Great location, nice kitchen and dining area, and nice privacy between Master up and 3 rooms down. BIG BUT, the upstairs cooling is a real problem even with the 3rd window AC installed in the dining room. Old portable fans inoperative and BBQ totally rusted away needs to be sent to the landfill. Nov 16, 2018 #### Great for families looking to be close to resorts This is a delightfully quirky house just 5 min from Ka'anaplai beach. There is plenty of space (3 bathrooms came in really handy) and we liked eating out on the Lanai. Kitchen had everything we needed and there was plenty of beach toys and snorkel gear there to use. Owner was super responsive, though we had no problems or complaints. There is a 70s vibe to the house that I found charming and while it wasn't a fancy place, it was very clean and we slept like babies. There were 2 queens, 2 twins, and 1 king bed. Plus plenty of couches and TVs in multiple places. We wanted to be close to resort-ville b/c we had family staying there, but we wanted to save $ cooking and have more space than hotel rooms provide. This was the perfect middle ground. Would rent here again and recommend it. ##### Candace M. Apr 18, 2014 #### April Stay at Kannapali Vista Home Five of us shared this home on a recent trip to Maui for a friend's wedding, and we all really enjoyed our stay. If you are planning on staying in the Kaanapali area the location is excellent. Most of the wedding party was staying at the hotel resorts in Kannapali, and we found most of them just a quick 10 to 15 minute walk away. The beach is also only a 10 to 15 minute walk. We really enjoyed the size and the layout of the house. It was clean, and stocked with essentials like extra towels, toiletries, cookware, etc. Bruce was really helpful walking us through the house over the phone when we arrived, and although nothing came up it seemed he'd be ready and willing to help if it did. The home has a wonderful balcony off the living room that points out towards the water that we enjoyed hanging out on quite a bit. Overall we had a great stay; good location, large, clean, with a friendly owner. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of rental. ##### Kellen B. Oct 20, 2017 #### Big Ol' Kaanapali House This house had plenty of room to fit 8 people (4 couples) and a 2yo comfortably. It was great having 3 full baths. We found ourselves lounging out on the lanai a lot, which has a big table and some comfy chairs - great for having a local Maui beer and staring over the palm trees to the ocean in the distance. The location is also really convenient. 5min drive to Whaler's Village. 10min drive to Lahaina. 15min walk to Kanaapali Beach. Safeway and Foodland nearby. Close to the fun but sitting on a quiet cul-de-sac with a driveway that easily fits two cars. Several beach chairs provided. Boogie boards. Some snorkeling fins. Inflatable tubes. Beach toys for kids. Plenty of beach towels. I think it's a great house for a laid back group. It's definitely not resort quality accommodations, but it has a very Hawaii feel and I think you'd have a hard time finding a better value. ##### Kelvin K. Aug 14, 2014 #### 100 degree vacation Nice location & big enough for my family of 6\. The wall air conditioning units do not cool off the living area & kitchen upstairs. The one in the master bedroom does not work properly and it's the whole living room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom are unbearable from 11am to about 5pm. There's an ant problem so no food can be left on counters which defeats purpose of renting a house. The house is not really clean - one of my daughter's dropped her brush behind a dresser & when retrieving it, it was so dusty and full of cob webs and she saw someone's hair roller. Also a trail of ants on the floorboards. It is cooler downstairs but there is a musty smell. Definitely not seeing the cleaning fee being utilized to clean the house. The ceiling fans are off balance when turned to high which you need in the heat. The sprinklers hitting the bedroom windows at 6am and wake the occupants of those bedrooms. The house has great possibilities but just not seeing the pride of ownership. Again, with a family of 6, we really needed to be able to cook in the kitchen more.
