No air conditioning and no screens on the windows when we opened them up to cool down lots of flies got in the room. The safe didn't work and we had to get it reset just to stop beeping, the keys stopped working each day. We attempted to get a refund to switch hotels after the first night but they were not amenable.

Overall a very nice hotel - ideal as walking distance to the tennis. Pros : The rooms are decorated in a business style, great English TV channels (which is rare), warm duvets, safes that work & staff are helpful, good euro b'fast so some real pros with trams,Trattoria & coffee shops nearby. Cons: Pillows look great but are pretty useless, bathrooms need an upgrade, as the hotel no longer offers dinner a small fridge should be installed in each room - cheap to run & would be ideal for water/ snacks etc.. should offer luggage store after checkout. Overall really happy with stay but if the cons were reduced it would get 5 stars !

It is conveniently located. The room was clean, neat, and comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful. The price was excellent. I would have preferred a little more variety in the breakfast offerings, which were satisfactory. Also, the towels were not of good quality. For the price, it was an excellent choice, and I would go there again.

Overnight stop
No aircon, we were so hot, had to open window which meant it was so noisy as its on the main road. Bed was way too soft. Staff really lovely and helpful. Really great to be right next to the tram stop for easy of travel

Very clean and right next to a tram stop, which was great as it was a little further out of the city than I thought. Hotel was very hot as there was no air conditioning.

Quick stay at hotel Alfa
Overall this stay was as-expected for a place to lay my head for one night after a long day. Clean and well appointed, the only negative was a closed restaurant (understandable with Covid staffing shortages) and a subsequent recommendation for a cafe that is always closed on Mondays (the day of my stay). Not a big deal, though and staff was otherwise very friendly. Would recommend.

Comfortable and close to tram.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. Situated right near a tram station, it was very convenient and they offer a free tram voucher for your stay. Front desk closes early, especially on weekends. We had to call the front desk to gain access and our keys were taped inside. We did not get breakfast (as promised) because there was only 2 ppl, they didn't want to prepare for just us (no explanation either).

Very spacious hotel for stay in Basel
This place was a great home base in Basel. it’s a bit far from the central area, but they give you a voucher for free tram transit, which is a great deal. The hotel room was nice too!

The location is excellent. The tram stop is opposite and a short tram ride to the centre of Basel. The hotel was warm, clean and welcoming.

Hotel was clean and situated right next to the tram station. They even offer free tickets to use the tram which just makes life easier. Room was squishy clean, and one of the most friendly, welcoming and helpful reception girl I have ever met

The breakfast was amazing on Sunday, but they changed the hours for Monday and breakfast ended at 8:30 am. I paid extra and was not able to utilize it. We asked for a snack and was refused. This would not normally be such an issue, but due to current restrictions, it is not possible to eat in a restaurant.

We check-in several times because our job required to stay for longer and on the final day with check-in there was no one on the front desk, so the plumber was the “reteptionist” and it was very rude with us.

Convenient
The main reason to stay here is the convenience if you are driving - free parking, easy access to the motorway and best still a frequent tram right outside the door that takes you in 10-15mins to the edges of the Aldstadt and the main shopping areas to save you having to negotiate the town (you get a free pass for trams/buses from the hotel). WiFi fine and free. Breakfast good. Rooms fairly basic and surprisingly lacking in air conditioning which will likely increasingly become a problem for them (it was 34c when we were there and they had left a fairly pointless fan in the room).

Hotel is old but nice. Easy check in process and was given a free transit pass to use for the duration of my stay which made things incredibly easy. Location was not super convenient and there was not too much around. Overall good stay.

Great if you have a car
Business trip to Basel for one night with 2 colleagues - arriving by car. If you have a car this place is perfect - reasonably priced and just outside the city centre - so you can take the free tram (right outside the front door) and be in the centre in 5 mins. Free parking in the car park at the side of the hotel. It is not a ‘wow’ hotel but comfortable and does the job very well. Breakfast is adequate although the croissant for the speedy breakfast could have been fresher.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and very nice. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly and breakfast was just what I needed the next morning. The free parking was a huge bonus which was what made my decision initially. The free public transport pass was useful too and allowed me to head into the centre of basel easily for a walk around and some dinner in the evening. I would definitely recommend and stay again in future

A nice hotel very convenient to transit - which is free with a pass from the hotel. Smallish room but in very nice condition. Breakfast was lacking but ok. Do skip dinner, it was raining so we stayed in - sorry it was raining. The food was very ordinary and pricey. Next day we went downtown and had really good food.

Good value in an expensive
For the price and convenience (Basel is extremely expensive) this is very good. Clean, comfortable and with all the standard amenities. It is also right next to the tram stop into Basel centre and you get free public transport passes for your stay.

Booked the hotel for one night traveling with my wife from Strasbourg, Arrived at ~19:30, no parking available for hotel guests, were told that the Hotel's restaurant visitors occupy the parking. It was snowing and raining that evening and no available parking nearby (spent 1/2 circling to find a parking spot, eventually had no choice and parked in a privet parking), at 23:00 went out and moved the car to the hotel parking (only 2 spots were available), reception was not helpful and was busy with other things. The 1st'room we got had electricity problems so we were moved to another room. The new room was very tiny, barely a place around the bad, bathroom was very, very tiny and confined. Shower with a plastic drape, no place for shoulders to bend over the sink and a toilet. Shower was very dark with a small mirror, very low quality towels. Bed was very uncomfortable! Had a 19'' TV on the wall (was not working) The room had various levels that caused us to knock our feet. No mirrors in the room. Furniture condition was ruff (as if was found in a flea market). Breakfast was very basic with a very small variety.
