Relax by the wood burning fireplace, prepare fresh meals in the new open-concept kitchen (all stainless-steel appliances including dishwasher, quartz countertops and porcelain apron-front sink). Serve up to six at the dining table which features views of the ocean in two directions. Go to sleep in fresh new beds and linens with the soothing sound of the surf. The master bedroom has a queen bed; the loft can be set up as either a king bed or two twins. Small children can sleep on a sofa in the loft or the main sofa in the living room. Ideal for two couples; two adults with two older children and/or two younger children. The all-new bathroom features a deep tub, subway tile and in-floor heating. The large loft includes a sofa and table for puzzles and games or working on your laptop. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean in the private one-acre garden. The view to the southwest is the Olympic Peninsula and mountains, Washington State. The view along the scalloped coast to the northwest is out to the open Pacific Ocean. Whales (grey, humpback, minke and orcas) can occasionally be spotted – migration is between March and October. Sea lions, harbour seals and otters will often rest/play on the rocks along the shoreline. Weasels/rabbits/raccoons and occasionally black bears will pass through the yard. Many birds such as eagles, osprey, jays, loons, robins, kingfishers, gulls and of course our namesake wrens, nest and feed on the property or nearby. The cottage is perfect as a romantic retreat or a nature lover’s getaway. We have hosted micro-weddings, elopements, honeymoons and anniversaries. It is a great home base for those wishing to hike the nearby Trails (West Coast and Juan de Fuca Trails), to explore the amazing beaches just a stone’s throw away, or to check-out the many attractions in Port Renfrew, Jordan River, Sooke and Victoria. There is a new automatic power back-up system to ensure your comfort during any disruption in power, as can occur on the Island from time to time. Note also that there are security cameras on the exterior of the Cottage to allow for investigation of any large property burglaries but there are NO interior cameras and recordings are only viewed in the case of a break-in/burglary. You must notify us in advance if guests other than those listed on the booking will be joining you (maximum of 4 adults). From the moment we pulled into the driveway we were in love with place. The views from every corner of the cottage (both inside and out) are stunning. There is an eye treat at every glance. This was the most perfect, secluded, peaceful cabin with absolutely stunning ocean views! The bed was comfortable, the kitchen stocked with everything you need, plenty of firewood provided. Windows letting the views and the sunshine in! It’s a nice setup inside with the open plan. Loved the cut wood ready to fire up the fireplace! The upstairs loft was nice as was the heated bathroom floor. Deck faces two directions and is fantastic! We had a really nice weekend there. ##### Edward & Bonnie M. We didn’t see any whales but I am sure they pass by. A propane fire pit/heater for the deck would have been a great addition but we sat indoors when the chill settled in for the evening. We spent hours just staring into the water, from the beach below, landings, and inside the house. Very special location with lots of wildlife sightings (seals, bald eagles, deer). The cabin itself is clean and well appointed. Comfortable beds too. The house is located near fantastic beaches, hikes, and super fun local restaurants.
