Welcome to Hi View House, a quiet desert escape in the beautiful Highlands area of Joshua Tree, sitting on five acres next to national park mountains. This stylish, comfortable house features a breathtaking panorama overlooking the West Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park and is a haven for wildlife. Yet with all that seclusion, guests will still enjoy a convenient location, just a little over three miles from either the West Entrance or the village of Joshua Tree. The shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and amenities of Yucca Valley are less than 10 miles west, and Twentynine Palms is around 18 miles east. At home, sip your coffee with a spectacular sunrise from your backyard or screened patio and step inside to make some breakfast when you get hungry. The open concept combines the comfortable living area, dining room, and kitchen, making it ideal for gathering together. The spacious, full kitchen features stainless steel appliances, warm butcher-block countertops, and all the cabinets and space you need to whip up a feast. Grab a bite together at the table inside, or dine alfresco on the patio. Spend the day exploring the ethereal landscapes of Joshua Tree National Park, then return home to relax for the evening. Stream the latest release or use the free, high-speed WiFi to catch up on remote work at the dedicated workstation. Things to Know Please be aware that the ice maker at this home has been ordered and is being ordered. Although there are ice cube trays available, a complimentary bag of ice will be delivered for you prior to your arrival. Please note that the closest place to purchase ice is a little more than 15 miles from the home. Be sure to pick up additional bags of ice on your way in, as you will not want to leave this beautiful oasis once you arrive! Semi rural location and somewhat beautiful. Will stay again! Read other reviews. Dirt roads that have street signs and power lines so not bad driving. Note that coming in from the west (Hwy 62) Google Maps had me drive a weird difficult route, and was at night :( But is actually really easy to get to and from the house by going on Park Blvd / Quail Springs Rd, which is only four (or five?) turns! (Use Rincon Rd.). The dirt roads have some potholes and minor washed out areas. Can probably do it in a car, but might want to not rent a sports car with minimal ground yes I know I know clearance.Be sure to visit the visitor center which is the other direction from the park entrance, especially as you may need to buy the park pass there. Those two are maybe 6 mi apart. Note the house is less than 4 miles to the park entrance (but traffic is usually stopped several cars before the entrance). They are building new larger entrance which will allow cars to get in quicker.Minor- Listing states the ice maker is not working and they will leave a bag of ice in the freezer, however they did not so I never had cold drinks. Another minor aspect is that there are several light switches and it's a little difficult to figure out where they what lights they control - would be nice if they label some of the switches. Very clean. The biggest issue was getting in. The road is terrible and you should warn people. If they had a small, low car they might not make it. Also come only during the day because no lights!! We stayed for 3 nights with friends - traveling from different parts of the country. The house is spacious and very comfortable. The beds were soft and we all slept so well. The fire pit was amazing at night. And we loved the extras - the hammock, coffee in the kitchen, a full sized laundry room, and the games. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Had a great 4 nights here driving in from San Diego! The property itself is in a gorgeous location overlooking the northern portion of Joshua Tree National Park and Joshua Tree Village. Minutes from the northern entrance and the town. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals, a/c kept it cool during the warm days. The house was comfortable, nicely decorated and well supplied. There are beautiful views from the living room, north bedroom and both outdoor patios. Even though it was winter, I saw lots of wildlife. I was watching a group of coyotes calling on the road just below I could hear two other groups at various distances calling back. A roadrunner walked past me, not 10 feet away. I saw a bobcat just down the road. It was wonderful. I like the location, well away from paved roads, very quiet. Great sunrises and sunsets. Loved being outside with the stars and slept so well in the comfy beds. Wifi was a little patchy while we were there and the door needed a bit of work to get in and out.
