Canoes and Kayaks!! 2000 sq ft cottage. All bedding is new, kitchenette equipped to provide for 6 people. 2 sitting areas, family room with ROKU and wireless internet. Walking distance to downtown wineries and Reeves Theater opens in Sept 2016 with food and music venues. 46 wineries in the 4 county area some with lovely restaurants. Stone Mountain, MERLEFEST close by. Canoeing and kayaking close by. Foothills!!! NC Apparently , we do not show up on google maps. The property is right past the high school . Count 3 houses and turn right on Azalea circle. The address is 105 Azalea . We always try to be available to meet our guests and tour the cottage . Just text us at 336-416-9030 when you are about 15 minutes out. We look forward to meeting you. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE A $50 PET FEE! Our hosts were very welcoming and surprised us with some goodies! The location is hidden from street view and very safe. We brought our parrots with us, and they loved the setting (looking out a window at birds/squirrels from their carry cages during the day). Host was great with communication including giving us their Roku PIN number so we could download a sports app to watch a game. We were treated with eclairs and a bottle of red wine. (Nice touch!) The host also had bagels and cream cheese, crackers and string cheese and microwave popcorn available for us. Expect an old house with old furniture and creaky floors. The negative for us was that both the bed and pillows were uncomfortable which made for restless sleep. Comfortable beds make it or break it for me. Our friends said the same thing for the bed upstairs. We highly recommend entertaining the idea of replacing them with new mattresses and new pillows. I also took advantage of the wineries near-by. Jeff and Omegia had the cottage opened up when I arrived and the place was very inviting. They is a mix of beautiful antiques and comfortable furniture. Jeff gave me the tour once I arrived. It really is set-up in the style of bed and breakfast. The kitchen was fully equipped with artistic dining wear and all amenities. They communicated all the fun things to do in the downtown area which is so convienent to their home. They also had all the modern needs covered as well -- with good high speed internet. The queen bed was very comfortable. You do feel like a guest in their home. I'll look forward to renting and visiting again. ##### William S. We found both. And the help and recommendations we received from this truly awesome host was essential in not only finding world class wine, but sleeping world class wine in a restful comfortable home afterwards. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evening after a full day of tastings and our beds were like clouds, clean fluffy sheets and blankets. The house is small, quaint and mostly comfortable--some odd moments with stairs and showers that reminded us of old Europe. Fresh eclairs for breakfast w/coffee. Nice thick absorbent towels. Just a lot of attention to detail. Truly very comfortable, walking distance into downtown Elkin where we grazed our way through dining and breakfast options. It was perfect and easy. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Beds were comfortable, amenties as described. The cottage is located in close proximity to the owners house and I felt very safe the entire time.
