Nice location right by the fjord, beautiful scenery, many sights and trails. Kayak and canoe can be borrowed for free. Bed linen and towels are included. 1hour 14min to Trolltunga parking. You stay right at the center of Herand, overlooking the bay and the marina. Right next to the apartment you will find a grocery store open all year, except Sundays, and a restaurant open in June, July and August. The Space: There are 3 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and a living room. The bathroom is quite small and entered from the hall, not the apartment, but there is a separate room with shower and a washing machine. You can also use a computer with internet access and a veranda. Guest Access: The road through Herand is called 550. We just got street addresses in Herand: Herandsvegen 300\. You can also try these alternatives: \- Search "Herand" on GPS or g o o g l e Maps. \- Check the images with maps, here on the airbnb profile. \- Look at the map on the bottom of the airbnb profile. There is not a lot of public transport, but you can come from Bergen with bus and boat. We can not post links on airbnb, you can search these words: For bus: 925 pdf skyss For boat: 2095 norled herand For bus from Kristiansand and Oslo to Jondal Ferjekai, order online at nor-way . no Bus from Jondal to Herand, search: Bus Jondal Herand 980 The Neighborhood: You will get info about the address when you make the reservation. If you come from Odda you can either drive through Jondal, which is the fastest way, or through Utne, where you will see a lot of nice nature =) Getting Around: If you come from Oslo/Gardermoen we recommend that you take road E134 over Haukelifjell, and not Road 7, even if this is the shortest way. There are not many ferries going from Kinsarvik to Utne, and in the winter the weather is better at road E134. Other Things to Note: There are many things you can do in Herand: Fine walks Several mountain peaks with marked trails Boatbuilder Museum Museum of Cultural History Rise-sag(?) driven by water from the river. Hardanger Art Gallery Rock carvings Cruise to Eidfjord every day from May 1 to September 30\. The boat arrives the marina in Herand four times a day. You can also rent a bike, take it to the boat and bicycle along the fjord back to Herand. If you want to travel around in Hardanger you can visit: Fonna Glacier Ski Resort Mikkelparken for children Trolltunga and Låtefoss at Odda Steinsdalsfossen Interaction with Guests: When you have ordered and paid you will get info about the key. Not the easiest hiking route, I have to admit (well, it might be if the weather is welcoming and you're wearing a nice pair of water resistant boots) needless to say we were lacking any of those (dumb us). At some points you literally have to balance on a rope (very wet with ice cold water streaming down the sleeves as you're grabbing it) 90 degrees up the rocks. The very end is breathtaking though-massive pile of snow, ice and waterfalls all pale blue as the air is ridiculously clean there. Take extra care, however, the surfaces, little bridges and pathways get really slippery if it rains.
