The blankets, beds, furniture , decor and kitchen had touches that would easily go unseen as they were placed with humility.I do not think the photos do the property justice as the house is so much more then beauty. There is lots of wonderful local art displayed throughout and it includes artisanal furniture and rugs from Fogo Island. The kitchen and bathrooms have been finished to highest standards and the kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need. Janice responded promptly to any queries and was very helpful.The Storehouse restaurant is nearby and is well worth a visit - we had a fantastic supper there.Fogo Island is an amazing place!Overall, this was one of the best vacation properties we have ever stayed at. ##### John O. Very comfortable with modern appliances, quality furniture (much of it locally crafted on Fogo Island) and nice decor (including original artwork by the owner). Great view of the harbor from the living areas and the small front porch. Large back deck provides more outdoor siting space. Centrally located on the "populated" side of Fogo Island close to galleries, museums, hiking trails, groceries, etc. There is some traffic noise from the road during the day, but it's quiet at night. The fenced yard is natural vegetation (which we appreciate), so don't expect a lawn. We met several friendly neighbors who shared their stories about Fogo.
