Fortunately there is a visitor information center at the airport and the man there was kind enough to call the hotel for me. I was told that it would be a 20-minute wait but the female driver came almost immediately since she had just dropped off another guest and was still at the airport. She was very kind and told me about borrowing the free bikes from the hotel to explore the area, but when I asked the receptionist upon check-in I was told that "the bikes are free for hotel guests to borrow now but that will not be the case in the future." My room was not ready so the hotel stored my bags when I went out to explore the island on public buses since the receptionist was discouraging me from using the hotel bikes to tour the island. The bus-stop is a short walk from the hotel, but if you missed a bus it could be an hour wait for the next one. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was simple yet good. When I tried to book my return airport transfer the receptionist told me that there would be a charge since the free transfer was only for one-way.
