Almost new Log Cabin, just finished in 2017 on 34 acres with 1200 ft driveway provides privacy and fantastic views of Cherry Pond and from Mt Waumbek to Vermont. The Property abuts the White Mountain National Forest and you can hike out the top of the property to Owls Head and Mt Martha which is about 3.0 miles one way and 1600 ft of elevation change. Owls Head offers fantastic views of the entire presidential range. The 1st floor bedroom has a queen bed, and the living area has a full size sleeper sofa. All mattresses are new memory foam mattresses. There is a storage loft that is accessed by a ladder, not stairs, so it is not appropriate for children under 5 or people unable to climb a ladder. The Cabin is off the electric grid with solar panels and batteries. One full bathroom with shower and an outdoor shower. My cleaner is phenomenal and the cabin is sanitized every time after each guest. Fantastic covered screened in porch to enjoy the views and there is a Pavilion covering the fire pit area with picnic table that also has fantastic views. Cell phone reception is very good with Verizon and there is 4G and LTE service. The cabin does not have WIFI or a TV, dishwasher, or laundry. It is meant as a getaway and to get unplugged. During the day, the view is incredible and at night the stars are amazing with almost no light pollution. Restaurants and towns are at least 15 minutes away on some of the most scenic roads in New England. Lancaster is 15 minutes, Bretton Woods is 15 min, Bethlehem is 20 min, Gorham is 21 min, and Littleton is 27 minutes. The journey is half the fun with many view points and activities outside of towns. In the winter season, it is recommended to have AWD or 4WD vehicles as the driveway is about 1200 ft long uphill with a 10% slope. The craftsmanship of the cabin is gorgeous and it's absolutely clean and crisp in every way. We enjoyed making eggs, French toast and bacon every morning in the cast iron pan. We loved waking up to the gorgeous view. The location was close to all we wanted to do, the Kancamangus highway, hiking the presidentials and driving to the Mount Washington summit. There is no TV but we didn't need it one bit. Slept incredibly well in the comphy bed and linens Our phones got great data coverage. Be sure to read all the info about the cabin being off the grid so you know about the limited electricity. You cannot use a blow dryer or high voltage plug in. Google even had a bit of problem finding the exact location (Apple maps didn't have a problem for a change). Off the grid. Electricity was from solar panels. If you like isolation, you will like this. We did.Great view from the porch. Lots of mountains in the distance. At night, open dark skies to the north and above (we actually watched a great display of the Northern Lights while we were there). Loved the alcove in the forest for a campfire. Table and chairs and firewood. Even roasting forks. Flashlights in the cabin.Easy to go in various direction to site see. We went to Mt. Washington. Also the Franconia Notch State Park state park was pretty close as well. Towns like Littleton are recommended as well. I believe all of these were an easy 30 minutes away in different directions. The place really is in the center of things.There is no place just on the corner to eat, but Whitefield, was only 10 minutes away. It has limited facilities like a grocery store, Dollar General, Dunkins (with very poor service), and a couple of small eating places. There are larger towns about 30 minutes away with lots of restaurants and shopping.Not much in the way of cons. Lighting felt dim, but adequate. In spite of feeling in the wilderness, there is actually a bit of road noise in the distance. Not terrible, but noticeable. My wife and I have been staying at various cabins in and around NH for a number of years. We like to find places in close proximity to the White Mountains for hiking. Ben’s place is exactly the spot we have been looking for for years. It checked every box, close to the whites, attractions and great places to eat within a short driving distance. The cabin was super clean, private and comfortable. We loved ot and can’t wait to go back. ##### Jared R. We loved the location, which was very private yet close to hiking trails and central to a few different towns. It was obvious that Ben and his family thought through every detail when building this camp. The view from the property was lovely, and the outdoor patio/fire pit area was amazing. While a cabin, it is stocked with top quality cookware and linens as well - a very nice surprise if you are not expecting it. While we did not use the bicycles, there were three in the basement available for use, and the Presidential Bike trail is nearby. Following the stream up the mountain will bring you to the forest, marked with red paint on the trees. There is a trail that runs along the perimeter of the forest, which was enjoyable. Ben was very responsive as well, which we appreciated! We hope to be able to return! ##### Chris C. After I had reached the host by email he was quick to reply by text. I had to email him the day before rental to get the key code number and then he did say he would email me directions/info which I never received. The VRBO directions told us to look for Hazen road and there was no Hazen Road dign, it was Airport Rd., and I had to reach out to him the day before stay for key code.Alhe was very quick to respond. ##### Marie F.
